yeah but is this a product of being a heisman qb winner or just because its hard to be productive in the NFL? give me a % of the players that make it being drafted in the top 10 picks of the draft every year or even top 5, its probably the same. its hard to make it in the nfl.. not all of those heisman QBs were even top 5 or top 10 picks..

The NFL draft is a crap shoot. Taking a QB in the first round of the NFL draft is even a bigger crap shoot. I don't think there is sufficient data one way or the other that suggests winning a Heisman benefits or takes away from your abilities in the NFL.
Several people on that list you cannot agree with:
(1) Vinny Testiverde was pretty decent and generally got the job done. He had some Probowl years and lead his team into the playoffs several times. Not spectacular sure but real solid.
(2) Carson Palmer it is way too early to give up on this guy. Before his knee injury he was a stud and really has been mediocre to flat horrible since. Who knows a change in scenery could very well be the spark that is needed.
(3) Doug Flutie is basically the same as VInny in that not spectacular but solid at times for his team. People got to keep in mind that in todays scout driven NFL because of his size I highly doubt a Doug Flutie would ever be given a chance and frankly that is a shame. It was great watching him play. By the way he was drafted in the 11th round. I would say he out performed his draft position.
(4) Players like Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford it is way, way, way too early to tell at this point. All indications say that Bradford could be a stud and Tebow might carve out a nitche for himself but who really knows.
(5) Players like Detmer, Torretta, Wuerffel, Weinke, Crouch, White and Smith were all not first round picks but third round or later. Detmer - 9th round, Torretta - 7th round, Wuerffel - 4th round, Weinke - 4th round, Crouch - 3rd round, White - undrafted, & Smith - 5th round. Therefore, there really was not much expectations for them given the draft position.
(6) I can also post damn good Heisman winning QBs too like: Jim Plunkett, Roger Staubach and Paul Hornung.
However, of all the QBs listed in your link I think we can both agree on Andre Ware since he as the 7th overall pick, won the Heisman and a complete and utter bust. So other than that one I disagree.

Mugg completely agree that several of the people listed should not have won the Heisman, but my point is that Heisman sucesses doesn't necessarily equate to the NFL or at least where these players are draft. So Cam being #1 overall and a Heisman winner doesn't necessarily mean anything. BOL!
