Danny Ferry had a chance to get Shaq and his 2010 expiring contact, as early as Jan09 and still could have pulled the trigger up until the 11th hour of the trade deadline 03.31.09, A deal that only got held up because of Ben 'f##k'n' Wallace , but he choose not to do it. That is why the Cavs are not in the finals...imo. and may get LeBron to re-consider his loalties to NE Ohio. Ferry along with 90% of the english speaking world thought it would be Cle/Bost in the east final this year, which favors Cleveland w/match-up's...wtf, he should'a bought some insurance, the stupid fuck.
Shaq would have leveled the match-up problems Cleveland has had with Orlando since Dwight "Superman" Howard came on the scene. The Magic have had the Cavs # since that day. This would have been the championish thing to do and because it was not made...
it may alter history for years to come...wtf.
The entire Cleveland front office dropped the fucking ball on this one.

What do you mean the deal was held up because of Ben Wallace? Phoenix didn't feel Cleveland was giving up enough value and they had every right to feel that way. Cleveland thinks so highly of Anderson Varejao and he obviously can't stop Dwight Howard, much less contain him.

no man, cleve wanted to send b.wallace and phx wanted wally sz...for SHAQ, it was that simple.
And WTF...shaq wanted the deal to fly he was willing to be second fiddle to lebron,...could you imagine the story lines if Shaq was in cleveland and the lakers were heading to Cle. for GM#1 in the finals this week...wow, woulda' been sweet.

Cleveland actually offered Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. Phoenix can get a better offer that frees them of some of Shaq's salary. Plenty of Non-guaranteed contracts, a expiring contract that makes a lot and acquire a draft pick at the same time.
Anyways. Dwight Howard can proven he can produce against Shaq, but it would allow Cleveland to open things up more.
