That is from two trades one with the Suns and one with the Bobcats..
pretty good move by the rapts, they get rid of Turk and his 4 year contract, and Caldy who has 3 more years left.. And they get barbosa and Diaw who will have 2 more years each, and Chandler who only has one more year left..

The Raptors are still a mess, but this looks like a good set of trades for them. I have no doubt that Turkoglu and Calderon will be much better players next year, but it wasn't going to happen in Toronto.

Smith (ESPN) is reporting the Cats-Raps trade dead right now. Dam Jordan is putting the trade on hold. So, we'll see still might get done today. Raptors are very eager to get this trade done.

what the rapts need to do is not to try and fight with all the other big clubs, just lay low pick up draft picks young players and hope they can emmulate the Thunder. Get lucky, draft a superstar, like Durant, and hope he sticks with you and get other draft picks who will grow with that player ala Green and Westbrook....... Thunder look very promising right now.....
Toronto is not a small market (in the top 5 for biggest cities in america) so you would think they should be able to attract some quality players there eventually.... we will have to wait 7 years though and let Bosh/wade/James/Howard get old to have a shot at the title lol.
Rebuild, rebuild, rebuild, why bother trying to compete with these mega teams right now..

They should rebuild, but Colangelo already said that he's trying to win this year. Ownership's pressuring him to raise attendance and make some money from playoff games.
They need to realize that sneaking in as the #8 seed and getting swept by Miami and RuPaul Bosh isn't better than tanking and getting a decent draft pick.

As if MJ wasn't a bad enough exec. who let this clown into office? All the players were essentially told of the trade yesterday. You have Reggie Evans sending tweets thanking the city of Toronto, players ready to move on. MJ then becomes relentless to trade Chandler, back's out of the trade when it was ready to be approved by the league, weak move by MJ. Im sure Colangelo is ticked how this went down.

Suns have done quite well in this off season considering they lost an All Star. Turk, J-Chill and Wawrick will all thrive under the current uptempo system.
Suns over season wins the way to go again if set at 40 or so.

rod, it wont be 40 i think.. The thing with the Suns is if Nash goes down (he is really up there in age) they will go down significantly, Dragic is good but he is good in spurts off the bench and then who will backup dragic if nash goes down?

Dragic improved 5 fold last season, basically the reason why the Suns were more than happy to off load Leo to Toronto. Also it's not like Leo did much last season anyway due to injury for much of the season, Dragic was pretty much the #2 option since the All Star Break.

Ya, Dragic is their 2nd option. They won't miss Leo. Both Leo and Turk coming off disappointing seasons, I expect both to thrive on their new teams. With the Raptors style of play and the increased minutes Leo will get, he'll play with a bit of a chip to show he still belongs in this league. Hedo meanwhile, never utlilized the way he should have been for the Raps, the fit just didn't work out. Hedo also, has a lot to prove from last year. He's still got the skill to be a game changer in this league and playing with Nash and the Suns is the best situation that could have happened to him to rebound from perhaps his worst season in his career.
