Ugh. Should have known better than to bet an under with Karns. So far he's thrown 16 pitches and 14 have been for strikes. Sounds like a good stat but it's really not. Josh Towers (former Jays and O's pitcher) used to throw 75% strikes and...well...look how that turned out.

Weebles: You may want to visit my thread again; I had a LOT of intelligent things to say today. Not too many big words either, I tried to take that into consideration.

weeble, can you please elaborate why throwing strikes are not really good? I'm new to baseball, so newbies like me would think that strikes are statistically good.
Thank you so much for taking time out from your busy schedule to post.

I come to Covers for idiocy and ignorance. There's no place on this forum for intelligent speak.

Don't get me wrong...I'm sure it works for a guy like Clayton Kershaw. But, in my opinion, ya gotta work the plate better. If you're just tossing fastballs down the plate, many of them are going to be hit around. And when a guy like Karns relies on his four-seam fastball for the vast majority of his pitches, it's not too hard to see why he has such a high ERA throughout his career.

Weebles this cle game is strange and something I rarely see.
Sharp (ish) books making CLE -120 on the ml but holding CLE tt at 4 and juicing the over -130 + yet holding HOU tt at 4.5 and juicing the under -130 ish.
Just find it strange they are refusing to budge off 4.5 for the Stros. I get CLE and bottom 9 just odd...
