4 million per year guaranteed til 2018. That's a long term commitment, and he and pOOHOLES are sucking Moreno dry --- the pitching is not as bad as other staffs around the league. No excuses. You aint producing, than time to move on.

Angels always start slow. Besides, there is no dominant team in the division. I think the Angels will eventually get in a groove towards the All Star Break. He should be fine.

Hamilton is and will be a big albatross around his neck, Puljos is on the back side of his career and he has no pitching. It is not Sciosia's measly $4m that is the problem, it is the half billion (roughly) that is being paid to two players who are not the superstars they are suppossed to be

Yet Hamilton was a savior for the Rangers just two years ago?

people give too much credit and/or blame to the managers in MLB. Baseball is the sport imo where manager matter the least. Not hard to make a lineup and choose a pitcher to come out the bullpen. Mike isn't playing is he?

Wow, I completely disagree. Managers have a HUGE impact on a baseball game. They control the starting lineups, where they bat, how long a starting pitcher stays in, whether they're going to sacrifice in situations that call for it, which guy comes in from the bullpen and other minutiae.
No, he's not playing but picking the wrong guy to come in from the bullpen can drastically affect a game. Leaving a starter in for too long when he's tired can also make a big difference. You're acting like everyone is of equal talent and that's not accurate. It's the manager's job to know which guys are capable and put them and the team in the best situation to win.

Luckily they have the TV contract to keep the $$ flowing. I think Arte fell in love with the Yankee way of the last decade and wanted to spend on the big ticket items. Scosh is a small ball guy and the Pujols and Hamiltons dont fit in with his style. Love the Angels but hate what they have done the last 3 years. You can't have marginal pitching and sit and wait for the 3 run homer every inning.

Completely agree with fivespot. He built his reputation using aggressiveness on the base paths and playing a NL style of baseball. The GM and owner have assembled a team that is not built for this style. Pujols gets on base and completely shuts down the running game.
He will eventually get fired, but he is not to blame. Their pitching is atrocious and their organization is void of ML talent in minors.

Agreed with above comments, that he needs better pitching than the other team, and he needs his players to steal bases--which Pujols and Hamilton do not do at all. Trout is the consummate player for the Halos, and they treated him like an afterthought paying him peanuts in his sophomore year.
Time for a change.
Hey though...Sciosia has found a new career! He'd make a great ump--he certainly looks the part, and he knows the rules. And it's not like he or anyone else is happy he's managing.

Guess is Sciosia is gone. Losing a series to the Stros and the lowly Sox, and probably KC at home will seal it. That's life in the big leagues. Happens to the best of 'em.

Worst coaches in the league are Ventura, Socia, and Gibson. It sucks because they have the players to be somewhat contenders, but with this guys at helm, its bad.
