I would stay away from these guys if you are Canadian or if your country's banks give you problems when you cash in US checks/money orders. |

WARNING To Canadians About Rebate Wager: Problems With Withdrawals
in Gaming Industry - US
I wanted to share a recent problem that I had with withdrawing from
Rebate Wager. Although this problem mainly concerns Canadians, it has
the potential to cause problems for people outside of the US (depending
on the banks in your country). So here's what happened:
I recently made a withdrawal from Rebate Wager for $5000US. I received WU money orders totaling $5000US. Rebate Wager did an excellent job in getting these to me the next day, but this is where the problem starts. The next day, I go to my bank to deposit these into my US Dollar account. I'm told that since these money orders are drawn in US Dollars, they would have to apply the usual 30 business day hold on them. I'm sure Canadians are familiar with this when they deposit anything in US Dollars. I tell them that I need the money right away and that I'll try a check cashing place, like a Money Mart. I go to Money Mart and end up cashing $1500US in these money orders simply because I needed the money. I ended up receiving only $1391.83CDN for this $1500US money order. To cash a $1500US money order, I ended up paying exactly $134.34CDN in fees (foreign exchange fees + processing fees + flat rate conversion fee). That day, my $1500US was worth $1526.17 and I only got $134.34, which means I paid 8.8% in fees to cash my money. I ended up depositing the remaining $3500US in my US Dollar account. The hold will be taken off the funds in mid September. I contacted Rebate Wager about what had happened before all of this. I told them that I went to the bank and that the WU money orders they sent me were subject to a 30 business day hold. I asked Rebate Wager if I could send the money orders back to them and for Rebate Wager to pay me through another method. I was told that there was nothing they could do because they had already printed my name on the money orders and they now belonged to me. In light of these circumstances, I had asked Rebate Wager to compensate me the $134.34CDN that I lost in fees when I cashed in the money orders they sent me, which they refused to do. I didn't ask for anything on the remaining $3500US even though I won't have access to those funds for another 4 weeks. My analysis on this: If you are Canadian, you are very limited with withdrawal options at Rebate Wager. They don't use Insta Debit, Moneybookers or even regular checks. My only option were these WU money orders. With them you only have two options: 1. Deposit them in your checking account and wait 30 business days for the funds to clear. 2. Cash them in at a check cashing place and pay the 8.8% I did. This would have cost me $440US on my $5000 withdrawal. None of these appealed to me, but since I needed $1500 right away, I bit the bullet and took the hit of $134. Although this is a good book in terms of lines, customer service and website, the lack of withdrawal options, and the problems when you receive your withdrawal, are reasons why I would not use this sports book if I'm Canadian. This book completely limits your options of collecting your winnings if you are Canadian. The WU money orders in US Dollars cannot be cashed immediately in your bank account. Your only other option is to Money Mart them and pay high fees. You can either wait 30 business days to get your money, or pay almost 10% juice in order to do so. If you are from Europe or elsewhere, and your banks have the same policies as the ones in Canada, then you could be facing the same problems as me. My final thoughts: If you are Canadian, use another book. The headaches this has caused me is simply not worth it. There are plenty of other books out there that are just as good as Rebate Wager and even better. Their promise of getting paid in 24 hours doesn't apply to us. |

Hey Cisco,
I see that the plays today are Cinci and Oakland. So this is like a regular chase, right? I bet X amount to win the amount I lose yesterday on Cinci and Oakland plus one unit, on each game, correct? Again, sorry for these questions which probably seem so basic to you. |

Thanks Budman,
Hopefully this stuff starts to become clearly as we go along. $X to win 1 unit on Oakland, Cinci and Houston tonight. Good luck all. |

Hey Cisco & All,
I've been lurking around, following this system the last couple days and I decided that I'm gonna hop in today. I see from the spreadsheet it says that the plays are Oakland, Cinci and Houston. The question is, do we bet one unit FOR or AGAINST these teams? I'm sure it's all crystal clear for you guys, but the spreadsheet isn't so clear for me, there are parts that I'm not grasping yet. I'm a quick learner though, so hopefully I won't be troubling you with anymore silly questions. |

Hey Rizz,
I've been lurking for a years on this forum and have been reading through this extensive thread of yours and am impressed with your results. Just a few questions about your system. 1. You say the chase starts "IF" the fav in Game 1 of a 3/4 game series is -150 or greater, regardless if it's home or away, right? I noticed on this page that you listed: Series#195 (G1) 7:15 COL -140 @ pit 8 48/58 as a play, but COL is -140 in this first game. Why did you chose this game since COL wasn't -150 or more? 2. What lines do you use to determine if a team is -150 or more, opening lines? Mid day lines? 3. Let's say a bad road team with an ace is -160 in the first game playing a team like the Yankees or Tampa Bay. Would you still play this chase, considering that having the ace sort of distorts system? 4. I noticed you list: +141.25U with labby, with your results. The "labby", stands for Labouchere system, right? Isn't this just a simple chase where you wager X to win 1 unit, then if you lose, you wager Y to win back X + 1 unit, and if you lose, you wager Z to win back X + Y + 1 unit? If this is a Labouchere system, how does it apply here? If it isn't Labouchere, sorry for misinterpreting this. I've been doing a home chase system so far this season with good results. I only play home teams that are currently 5+ games above .500 at home on the season. I played a similar system last season in MLB and won about 92 units chasing these home teams in 3 game sets only (no 2's or 4's, 4's can be a bank roll killer if they go against you and it happens from time to time, even with the good home teams) |

Hey guys, here's the situation. Before the beginning of this NBA season, I placed a wager on Blake Griffin to win the Rookie of the Year. About a week after I placed this wager, it was announced that Blake Griffin was supposed to miss the first 2 months of the regular season. Before this 2 months was up, it was then announced that he was expected to return in January. Then, before January came, it was announced that he was going to be out for the season. Now, my question is, am I entitled to getting this wager voided since there was no action on it. In a horse race, if your horse never starts, then your bet is voided, correct? Let me know what you guys think, should I fight to get this wager back? Do I have a case? |

I've heard that betting the dogs blindly over the course of an NHL season is a profitable play.
Has anyone done this over the course of the season? I'd like to backtrack this system from last year's season, can anybody tell me where I could find historical lines on games, let's say, over +200? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I would share whatever results I came up with amongst the forum. |

Hey guys,
The odds I've come across on the 2016 Olympics Host City are intriguing because the IOC released their report a few weeks ago and Rio De Janeiro, which received the most favourable opinion, is set at 4.33 at bluesq.com. Madrid also received a decent rating and they are 10.00 at sportsinteraction.com. The "favourite" Chicago isn't being offered above 1.80 anywhere, yet they received many negative points in the report. I've taken both Rio and Madrid to win and the payout will be a little over 3 times my wager. Any thoughts? The IOC report can be easily found online. Cheers, |

You're right... their "play" does reduce my odds and I think it's a clear case of nickel and diming here.
I've been going back and forth with management over this and they're not giving in as of right now. I just can't believe they'd stoop so low. Anyways, any advice on how to approach this? I'm going to close my account if they don't show some leniency. But before I do that, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Traditionally in a dead heat, the odds are halved and the wager is paid out on these odds, right? This is what's making me lose my cool... they're saving a half unit with their bogus calculation. |

Alright, if that's the case - the dead heat race - then I should be paid at half the odds, right? That's how it works isn't it? I had Kobe at +500, so I should get paid out at +250, no? 5Dimes is telling me that only have my wager gets paid out at the full odds, which in the end short changes me half a unit. Sounds like an excuse to reduce my payout.

What book did you get the full payout at?

Just sent the email to 5Dimes. I do have the phone number to the wagering department manager. I'll keep you guys updated. I'm not that big of a player, so I hope that doesn't go against me here. Good luck to all of those players who hit this and got paid in full.

The book is 5Dimes.
Now that I think about it, I should be fighting to get the full $1200, and not the extra $100 to get it to $700. For the guys who took this bet and hit, what books are you at? What did your book pay out? |

I just received a payout on my Kobe MVP wager. The original payout was supposed to be at +500, and I expected to get paid at +250, but here's what happened:
*** Hello, I just logged into my account and noticed that my balance is $600. My account was at $0 before, and I just received a payout of $700, so my account should be at $700. The $200 I layed on Kobe to win the MVP at +500 was changed to +250 after he was declared the Co-MVP, which then should have paid out $700 on my $200. Could you please resolve this discrepancy. *** The Reply *** The wagering department reviewed your ticket and it is graded correctly. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille Oneill both won the MVP award so odds pay half and half. Since two players won, your bet is declare a win and a loss. You win a bet for $100 to win $500 with odds +500 and you lose $100. The final figure is $600. If you have any more questions regarding this or any other matter, please don't hesitate to contact the wagering department at xxxxxx. The manager will gladly explain the way this wager was graded. *** This seems a little fishy doesn't it? Taking $100 out of my $200 and laying it on Kobe? Isn't the standard to chop the odds in half? In this case +500 to +250 and paying me +250 on the $500? Their explanation seems like an excuse to shrink my payout. What do you guys think? - I even have a screenshot of the payout listed as $700. |
