WNBA MVP odds are live for the upcoming 2024 season, with sportsbooks predicting another close race between A'ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart as their superteams wage war atop the standings.
The two future Hall-of-Famers led the league's superteams throughout last season, jockeying atop the MVP odds board, with Stewart ultimately winning over Wilson and Alyssa Thomas in a razor-thin race.
In fact, despite closing as the favorite, Wilson wound up finishing third on a ridiculously close final ballot.
Should bettors gear up for another photo-finish? And will rookie sensation Caitlin Clark challenge for the crown? Let's take a look at the WNBA odds to win Most Valuable Player in 2024.

Favorites to win the 2024 WNBA MVP award
A'ja Wilson (+200)
A'ja Wilson's bid to repeat as MVP, and win a third overall, fell short in a controversial manner, but she got an important measure of revenge, eviscerating everything in her path en route to a second WNBA championship.
Wilson lifted a shorthanded Las Vegas Aces squad on both sides of the ball in the Finals, fending off a New York superteam led by MVP winner Breanna Stewart (more on her in a minute).
The Aces gang's back together to go for the three-peat, so there's no reason to assume anything other than Wilson being the best player on the WNBA's best team this season. Slotting her as the preseason favorite is only logical.
Breanna Stewart (+480)
Breanna Stewart's MVP win came by the slimmest of margins last season, and Wilson did lots over the ensuing month to perpetuate the narrative that she was robbed.
Still, Stewart is a two-way beast who should only be doubted at one's own peril. Likely the best scorer in the league (at least for now), she doubles as the New York Liberty's go-to force; piloting a team that's a mortal lock to win the Eastern Conference.
While teammate Sabrina Ionescu's profile grew immensely over the offseason — and she'll likely have a say in the MVP race herself — this is still Stewart's team, and plenty of new WNBA fans are about to find out how pure her game is.

Caitlin Clark MVP odds
Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention Caitlin Clark, who's spent the past couple years shattering the internet, along with every scoring record in college basketball.
The Indiana Fever will inevitably make Clark the No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft on April 15, where she'll team with 2023 Rookie of the Year Aaliyah Boston to form what has all the makings of a devastating inside-out combo.
Clark will have the basketball world's eyes on her this year, and is sure to attract even more attention to a league whose popularity has, encouragingly, been blossoming over the past couple of seasons.
FanDuel opening her as the eighth choice for MVP odds (+2,100) before she'd played a single WNBA game is a testament to just how high expectations are. And the bar's been set even higher in the weeks since, with Clark steaming all the way up to fourth choice at +1,400 — bested only by last year's finalists.
But Clark's insanely skilled and has ice in her veins — don't be surprised if she justifies all of the hype.
Understanding WNBA MVP odds
Most sportsbooks will display odds in the American format as listed above. If a player becomes a very strong favorite, their odds will be listed with a minus (-) sign ahead of the number.
- A'ja Wilson -110
The (-) means that Wilson is an odds-on favorite, and a bettor needs to wager $110 to win $100. Other contenders in the MVP race have plus (+) odds to win.
- Breanna Stewart +300
Here, a bettor stands to profit $300 for a $100 wager on Stewart if she wins the award.
If American odds aren't your thing, simply use a tool like our odds converter to switch the odds to decimal or fractional format. Most online sportsbooks also give you the option to change the odds format that you see.
WNBA MVP odds trends
Here are some trends you'll want to keep in mind when betting on WNBA MVP odds:
- WNBA MVP has historically been a big woman's award. Elena Delle Donne (2015, '19) is the only perimeter player to win since Diana Taurasi (2009), and Taurasi is the only pure guard to win since Cynthia Cooper (1997, '98).
- Repeat winners are quite common, with eight players having won two or more MVP trophies in the award's 27-year history.
- Seeding seems to be of increasing importance recently, with six of the past seven MVP winners being from the league's No. 1 overall seed. The lone exception's team finished second (Stewart, 2023).
