Ottawa took a 1-0 lead at 11:43 of the first period when K'Andre Miller turned the puck over trying to exit his zone. Claude Giroux fed the puck to Tkachuk cutting through the slot and he slid a backhand through Quick's pads.

Giroux's assist was the 700th of his NHL career.

The Senators moved ahead 2-0 at 1:24 of the second period when Chychrun scored with a one-timer from the inside edge of the right circle while on a power play.

The Rangers followed with five goals over an 11:03 stretch.

Kreider tied it 2-2 at 8:33 with a wrist shot from above the left circle off the rush.

Jones scored his first goal of the season 39 seconds later off a feed from Panarin to give New York a 3-2 lead.

The Rangers scored on their fourth consecutive shot when Brodzinski tipped in a point shot from Jones to make it 4-2 at 11:16 and end the night for Korpisalo.
