MLB odds

Use this tool to compare the best odds for upcoming MLB games from the best sportsbooks in your area. Filter between moneyline (ML), run line, and Over/Under totals to ensure you’re always getting the best lines for your baseball wagers.

How to use the MLB odds screen

After your handicapping research is complete with the help of our MLB Scores and Matchups, make sure you’re getting the best odds for the games you’re about to bet on.

Why? Because getting the best odds on every bet you make is the easiest way to make more money as a sports bettor in the long run.

Our MLB odds comparison tool shows you odds for all of today’s games from trusted, legal sportsbooks near you. The best odds are highlighted in  green . Click on the sportsbook name to go directly to that betting site.

Opening lines

The opening line — located under ‘Open” on the left side of the odds tool — is the first set of odds posted by sportsbooks for the game in question. These lines will move and be adjusted from the time they are posted until first pitch. Compare the opening line against the current odds to see which lines have changed the most since opening

Consensus

The consensus column on the right side of the screen shows you the total percentage of bettors in the Covers community who are backing each team without taking line movement into account. You can see which percentage of bettors are backing each team at specific odds at our MLB consensus page.

Why use Covers odds screens?

The odds comparison screens at Covers only feature odds from market-leading sportsbooks and betting sites in your region. The odds update every five minutes to ensure that you’re informed as to where the best price is for the bet you’re looking to place. Make smarter sports bets with Covers.

MLB odds explained

The moneyline is the most popular way to bet on baseball, but Over/Unders and the point spread (called the run line in baseball) are also very common.

Moneyline

The moneyline is the most common way to bet on lower-scoring sports like baseball as you’re simply picking which team will win the game. The moneyline favorite will have a minus sign (-) before the odds and the underdog will be shown by a plus sign (+). Learn more with our moneyline guide and calculate how much you could win with our moneyline calculator.

Updated moneyline odds can be seen by selecting ML above the odds tool.

Run line

The run line is baseball’s version of the point spread. In the MLB, it is almost always set at 1.5 runs — meaning the favorite (-1.5) needs to win the game by two or more runs, and the underdog (+1.5) can lose by one run or win the game outright. Learn more with our run line guide.

Current run line odds can be seen by clicking the run line button above the odds tool.

Over/Unders

Over/Under odds, also known as totals, are another popular way to bet on the MLB. When wagering on Over/Under odds, you’re making a bet as to whether the total runs scored by both teams combined will go Over or Under the number set by the sportsbook. Learn more with our Over/Under betting guide.

See today’s MLB Over/Under odds by choosing the total tab above the odds tool.

Futures

Betting on baseball futures means betting on an event that is later in time, such as the odds to win the World Series or which team will win the NL or AL pennant. These odds are posted during the offseason and take action until a winner is crowned. Learn more with our futures betting guide.

You can switch to view MLB futures odds by clicking Team Futures in the right-hand corner of the odds page.

Pitching matchups & odds

The matchup between the starting pitchers is an important factor in how oddsmakers set the lines for each game. It’s also a good place for bettors to start when handicapping baseball matchups.

The projected starting pitchers are listed in the odds tool and more details can be found by clicking on the matchup button.
