The Philadelphia 76ers and their star point guard appear headed for an inevitable divorce, prompting several books to post Ben Simmons next team odds.

After Simmons' atrocious jump shot evolved into a comical aversion to shooting at all, he passed up a wide-open dunk in the waning minutes of Round 2's Game 7 loss to Atlanta, helping seal the end of his team's season.

Following the loss, both MVP runner-up Joel Embiid and coach Doc Rivers publicly threw Simmons under the bus, beginning to fracture the relationship beyond repair. He's come out in recent weeks declaring his intention to hold out of training camp, prompting the 76ers to threaten him with fines.

Simmons, a client of notorious Klutch Sports agent and LeBron James BFF Rich Paul, has thus been not-so-discretely tied to several teams in trade rumors all summer. Here are the latest odds for Ben Simmons' next team.

Favorite to be Ben Simmons' next team

The Minnesota Timberwolves currently have the best odds to land Simmons' services for the 2021-22 season, paying out +400 to acquire the embattled PG. Simmons would inject a much-needed dose of defense into the Wolves' lineup, and could set the table on offense for young stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards. Minnesota has a variety of assets, including former All-Star D'Angelo Russell, that could help the Sixers in a return package.

The Houston Rockets sit with the second-best odds at +450. The Rockets again project as bottom-feeders this season and could plausibly absorb Simmons as part of their rebuild. But they have few current assets that would seem attractive in return for Philly, who look to keep their title ambitions afloat. Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta also reportedly nixed a James Harden trade to the 76ers last year over a beef with Sixers GM Daryl Morey, formerly Houston's front office boss. So, these two might not exactly have each other in "recent calls".

Sitting third on the odds board are the Sacramento Kings (+650), a wild-card catalyst with one of the most unpredictable owners in pro sports. Although Sac-Town can find themselves in a ton of zany scenarios, their one untouchable asset, De'Aaron Fox, also happens to be a point guard. If Simmons winds up on the Kings, he could be looking at a position shift, perhaps used in a quasi-Draymond Green role as a distributor and defensive shapeshifter.

Rounding out the Top 5 on the odds board is a three-way tie between the should-be-rebuilding San Antonio Spurs, the contender-hopeful Golden State Warriors, and the in-flux Toronto Raptors, all at +800.
