AL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
A's infielder Jacob Wilson continues to top the board, but this race is far from over. Still, he has a profile that may benefit him in the short term against players who may have higher ceilings over the long haul.
Still, he's been clutch.

The 23-year-old is batting .341/.364/.452 with three home runs in 34 games. He almost never walks or strikes out — posting a 3.5% walk rate and a 4.3% K-rate — and consistently puts the bat on the ball. He is third in the majors in hits, trailing only Aaron Judge and Paul Goldschmidt. If he wins a batting title in his rookie season, Wilson probably wins ROY, too.

NL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
The countdown for Bubba Chandler should be on. The Pittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect has dismantled Triple-A hitting this season, posting a 1.42 ERA with 36 strikeouts over 25 1/3 innings, earning the International League Pitcher of the Month honors.
They seem to be ramping him up similarly to Paul Skenes in 2024, gradually increasing his workload as the season progresses. Simply put, he has nothing left to prove but the Pirates are going to take their time.
Bubba Chandler goes 9 up, 9 down -- with 6 strikeouts! -- to begin his latest Triple-A @indyindians outing.

Chandler is very close to matching Skenes' Triple-A workload from a season ago before he ultimately got the call. Skenes made seven starts, and posted a 0.99 ERA with 41 strikeouts over 27 1/3 innings. Chandler hasn't been quite that dominant, but he's not far off. Skenes ultimately made his first MLB start on May 11 en route to winning NL Rookie of the Year.
With no one truly taking the reins in the NL yet, Chandler's odds would leap the second he gets promoted. Now, Skenes stumbled in his debut — kind of — and saw his odds go longer before he turned into a buzzsaw, but waiting to see if a similar thing happens with Chandler may be an error, especially if he pitches to his potential on Day 1. Taking him at 10/1 might be the best number we'll see here on out.

Past Rookie of the Year winners
Previous AL RoY winners
Although all players have an equal chance of winning the AL Rookie of the Year Award, the honor has been claimed disproportionately by outfielders since its inception in 1949. Outfielders have 24 victories compared to 17 for pitchers and 17 for shortstops. Catchers are bringing up the rear with just two ROY victories over the past 72 years.

Previous NL RoY winners
No franchise has won more Rookie of the Year awards than the Dodgers. "The Blue Crew" have claimed 18 RoY trophies dating back to the club's early days in Brooklyn.
However, unlike the AL — where the West has been the recent home of the top rookies — the NL East has housed five of the last 12 RoYs, with a mix of outfielders, infielders, starting pitchers, and even a reliever.
