PGA Championship Odds & Updated Betting Lines: Scheffler, McIlroy Top Field Entering Week

PGA Championship odds have been on the board for almost a year, and while Scottie Scheffler has been on top for months, Rory McIlroy is right there with him after ending an 11-year major championship drought at the Masters.

Following Rory McIlroy's historic victory at the Masters, the golf world now turns its attention to the PGA Championship.

Sepp Straka won the Truist Championship by two strokes to complete the final tune-up before golf's second major, but it's McIlroy & Co. who will be making headlines.

Considering Rory's incredible form and deep roots here at Quail Hollow, the World No. 2 has made a notable climb up the PGA Championship odds board in recent weeks. Let's break it all down in our golf odds below.

2025 PGA Championship odds

2025 PGA Championship favorite

Scottie Scheffler (+400 to +450)

Scottie Scheffler has been fetching short odds at all four majors for nearly two years, and that won't change in 2025.

He's yet to win the PGA Championship but has logged four Top-8 results in five career tries, including a runner-up in 2023. Even with Rory surging, you can never count out the World No. 1 — especially after he lapped the field in his Byron Nelson victory two weeks ago.

Rory McIlroy (+400 to +500)

The bigger story comes from Rory McIlroy after he ended an 11-year major championship drought at Augusta National last month. That came just a month after winning THE PLAYERS for the second time in his career.

Combine that form with the fact he's won four times at Quail Hollow, and the stars might just be aligning for back-to-back major wins. His odds sit between +400 and +500 after being listed at 7/1 prior to the Masters.

And while Scheffler sat out the Truist Championship, Rory played and played well. While he didn't win, he finished T7 at -10 for his fourth consecutive Top-10 finish. In seven 2025 events, McIlroy hasn't finished worse than T17.

How to read PGA Championship odds

Betting odds for the PGA Championship, like other sporting events, can be presented in various formats, including American odds, fractional odds, and decimal odds. However, American odds are commonly used in the United States for sports betting. Here's how to read PGA Championship betting odds in American format:

Positive odds: Positive odds indicate the potential profit on a $100 bet. They are typically associated with underdogs or less likely outcomes.

For example, if you see odds of +500 on a golfer winning the PGA Championship, it means a $100 bet on that golfer would potentially yield a $500 profit if they win. Your total return would be $600 ($100 stake plus $500 profit).

Negative odds: Negative odds indicate how much you need to bet to profit $100. They are usually associated with favorites or more likely outcomes.

For instance, if you see odds of -150 on a golfer to win the PGA Championship, it means you would need to bet $150 to potentially win $100 in profit. Your total return would be $250 ($150 stake plus $100 profit).

Whether positive or negative, the odds provide insight into the perceived likelihood of a golfer winning the tournament. Higher positive odds indicate that the golfer is less likely to win but could yield a higher return if successful. Lower negative odds suggest that the golfer is favored to win but may yield a smaller return due to the higher probability of success.
