LIV Golf Singapore Picks and Odds: Rahm Favored as Tour Heads to Asia

Jon Rahm has yet to win in 2024, yet he remains the favorite this weekend according to golf odds. He's finished Top 10 in all six LIV tournaments, but will Singapore be where he finally breaks through?

LIV golf heads to Singapore a week removed from Brendan Steele winning in Adelaide and serves as the midway point of the season. Despite the victory, Steele is nowhere near the top, as his odds sit around +5,000 a few days out.

Speaking of the top, familiar faces are there once again, with Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, and Bryson DeChambeau making up the Top 3 in golf odds.

Check out who else is near the top to win the LIV Golf Singapore tournament taking place May 3-5 at Sentosa Golf Club, along with our free golf picks for the event.

Sentosa Golf Club notes

Sentosa Golf Club offers two courses, but it's the par 72, 7,406 Serapong that takes center stage for this weekend's tournament.

The course offers a gorgeous backdrop of downtown Singapore, and there should be plenty of high scores with Talor Gooch winning in a playoff in 2023 over Sergio Garcia after both shot a -17.

Holes three to seven are called the "Dragon's Tail' with hole No. 3 offering golfers a challenging 495-yard Par 4. Things won't get easier for golfers either at the 486-yard Par 4 on hole No. 5.

LIV Golf Singapore picks and predictions

Jon Rahm to win outright

With four Top 5 finishes and a Top 10 in all six LIV Golf events this season, Rahm’s first victory is coming. Typically, I don’t look to the top of the board when the betting favorite is priced in this range, but Rahm’s a statistical star, and this is a question of when, not if.

Rahm entered last week’s LIV Adelaide event ranked second in strokes gained average, and he’s pacing the circuit in birdie average. I also value him ranking second in greens-in-regulation percentage and 10th in scrambling.

Pick: Jon Rahm to win outright (+700 at DraftKings)
Pick: Jon Rahm Top 5 (+150 at DraftKings)

Louis Oosthuizen to win outright

While it’s no secret that Oosthuizen is among the world’s best tee-to-green players, it’s his improved putting that has my attention. He entered LIV Adelaide ranked second in strokes gained putting, and he’s also second in putting average for the season.

The South African also ranks first in scrambling, second in birdie average, and third in driving accuracy to pave the way for a scorching stretch. Oosthuizen has three runner-up finishes across his past five events, with a T7 and T19 rounding out the heater.

Pick: Jon Rahm to win outright (+1,600 at DraftKings)
Pick: Jon Rahm Top 5 (+120 at DraftKings)

Mito Pererira Top 20

Pereira is a pure ball striker when in top form, and he’s coming off his best finish of the season with a solo eighth at LIV Adelaide. He finished solo fifth in this event last season and has flashed on the Asian Tour International Series with a T14 at Macau and T4 at Oman.

The 29-year-old Chilean was an excellent tee-to-green player on the PGA Tour before jumping ship, so I’m encouraged that he put 17 birdies on the card across 54 holes at Adelaide. Pereira also heated up to close out last season with a Top 20 finish in five of his final seven events.

Pick: (-125 at DraftKings)

LIV Golf Singapore field and favorites

Jon Rahm is yet to win a LIV Tour tournament this season, but his name and skill alone are forcing books to price him at the top. He's the only golfer to rank inside the Top 10 in all six tournaments in 2024, and it seems like only a matter of time before he breaks through.

As for Joaquin Niemann, he's looking for win No. 3 already after taking home the honors at Mayakoba and Jeddah. He finished two strokes back of the Steele in Adelaide last weekend.

Bryson DeChambeau will look to bounce back after a T26 performance down under. He is also yet to win in 2024 but has five T10 finishes under his belt — including a T6 finish at the Masters earlier this month.
