In an earlier write up, I mentioned that there are 2 offenses in the NL that you don't want to see in revenge spots; The Dodgers and The Braves. The Braves were embarrassed last night. They were no hit for 6 innings and ended the night with 3 hits and 1 run. They also watched Seattle celebrate Mitch Garver's walk off home run in the bottom 9th leaving an extra bad taste in their mouths. I have to give the Braves a pass here. It was their first game on a West Coast trip, a game that started at almost 10:00 EST. That's a hard spot for anyone, even elite athletes.
If I told you that Ronald Acuna Jr was hitting .255 with 1 HR and 6 RBI's, would you believe me that the Braves trail only the Dodgers in offensive efficiency? And it's not by much, they're right on their tails. This team can pitch too. They rank 6th in team pitching. Even after scoring one run last night, they're still tied for the league lead (with Cleveland) in run differential at +46. The Braves are slashing; .272 AVG/.342 OBP/.444 SLG/.786 OPS.
Seattle on the other hand has won the majority of their games on the back of their pitching. While their pitching is elite, their offense ranks 28th. They're hitting; .216 avg/.296 OBP/.353 SLG/.649 OPS. These guys can't hit shit (except in Colorado). They need their staff to keep them in every game and they have been doing a good job of that lately.
However, the Braves are bringing 30 year old Reynaldo Lopez to the mound tonight. Over 25 innings pitched in 4 starts, he's 2-0 with a 0.72 ERA/0.88 WHIP. I do expect some regression, but I don't believe it starts with Seattle's offense.
Seattle will counter with Luis Castillo. He's supposed to be Seattle's ace. Although, he isn't really pitching like one. Over 36 innings pitched and 6 starts, he's 2-4 with a 4.15 ERA/1.30 WHIP. Granted he's been much sharper in his last 2 starts, beating both the Rockies (does that really count) and the Texas Rangers (who seem to be in the midst of a World Series hangover). Do I think he can keep it going against an angry Braves offense? Not really. Maybe 1 time through the lineup, but I have to believe they get to him.
I don't know if the Braves will hang a 10 spot tonight. But, I definitely believe they'll outscore Seattle and win tonight's game.
I'm on the Braves at -116 for 5 units.
Cheers and BOL to everyone
I'll be tied up in meetings a good part of the day. But will try to jump in later if anyone has questions or comments.

@mikeydel - I don't play parlays or totals. Only straight bets (sides). I'm also a low volume player, avg 6-7 games per week when running hot and 0-4 when I go cold.

@mikeydel When I was younger, I was more of an action junkie. It took me several years to realize it was killing my bankroll. But some people do really well playing a large card daily. Everyone has their own style
