Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each had one goal and one assist to lift the Edmonton Oilers past the host Philadelphia Flyers 3-0 on Tuesday.

Kailer Yamamoto added one goal for the Oilers.

Oilers goaltender Mikko Koskinen made 39 saves to earn his sixth career shutout.

Flyers goaltender Carter Hart stopped 29 shots.

The Oilers were buzzing around the net and nearly scored when McDavid skated in and Zach Hyman nearly connected at 11:05 of the first period.

The Flyers earned a two-man advantage for 51 seconds at 14:09 but weren't able to capitalize despite a flurry of shots.

Edmonton went ahead 1-0 at 17:41 when Draisaitl scored on the power play. It was Draisaitl's 37th goal of the season.

Philadelphia came out aggressive in the second and almost equalized at 5:32. Gerry Mayhew fired a nasty slap shot, but Koskinen made a stellar save.

The Oilers took a 2-0 advantage at 15:10 of the second period when Yamamoto kept slashing at the puck and eventually sent it over the line.

Flyers captain Claude Giroux redirected a shot just wide at 6:03 of the third period.

The Oilers continued to attack and kept the pressure on Hart. McDavid had the best opportunity at 7:23, which Hart was able to stretch out and clear with his pad.

Derick Brassard and Mayhew each had solid chances in front midway through the third. Hyman ripped a wrist shot at 12:15 and Hart grabbed the puck with his glove.

Hart was pulled for an extra skater with 2:20 remaining, and Cam Atkinson had an immediate shot on goal. But Koskinen gathered the puck and covered up. Giroux then had another strong opportunity at 18:01.

McDavid put the game away at 18:20 with an empty-net goal, for a three-goal lead.
