Michael Raffl had two goals for the Dallas Stars in a 4-2 win over the visiting Buffalo Sabres on Sunday.

Roope Hintz and Denis Gurianov also scored for the Stars, who are 5-2-1 in their past eight games. Jake Oettinger made 38 saves.

Tage Thompson and Cody Eakin scored, and Craig Anderson made 27 saves for the Sabres, who have lost six in a row.

Dallas came out firing, getting five shots on Anderson before the game was five minutes old.

The Sabres struggled to generate much early, only recording their first shot on goal at 9:53 on their sixth shot attempt.

Raffl gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 12:35 of the opening frame when he tipped in Radek Faksa's shot from the top of the right circle at the front of the net.

Dallas outshot the Sabres 18-6 in the first.

Hintz made it 2-0 at 6:34 of the second period. Joe Pavelski scooped up a loose puck in a battle along the right wall and fed a centering pass to an uncovered Hintz in the slot.

Thompson cut it to 2-1 at 8:23. Jeff Skinner backhanded a pass across the neutral zone to Thompson, who fired a quick wrist shot from the right circle for his team-leading 22nd goal of the season.

Raffl restored the Stars' two-goal lead at 16:16. Alexander Radulov forced the Sabres into a turnover behind the Buffalo net and got the puck to Tyler Seguin. Anderson stopped Seguin's shot from the left circle, but the goalie couldn't smother the rebound, and Raffl cleaned it up.

Gurianov extended it to 4-1 on the power play at 8:56 of the third period, tipping in an Esa Lindell shot in the slot.

Eakin narrowed it to 4-2 at 14:02 when he slid a loose puck past Oettinger from the bottom of the left circle.
