Miami @ San Francisco preview
AT&T Park
Last Meeting ( May 8, 2015 ) Miami 0, San Francisco 6
Casey McGehee is off to a slow start in his first season with the San Francisco Giants, but perhaps a game against his former team is what it takes to snap him out of his funk. McGehee's second-inning grand slam was all San Francisco needed in Friday's 6-0 victory and the Giants look to make it two in a row when they host the Miami Marlins on Saturday in the third contest of a four-game series.
McGehee, who is hitting .195 with two home runs and seven RBIs, did not start the previous three games and received only one at-bat during that span as his lack of production led to manager Bruce Bochy giving him a break. The third baseman's outburst was a welcome sight for San Francisco, which won for only the sixth time in the last 20 meetings against Miami at AT&T Park after losing Thursday's series opener 7-2. The Marlins expect to have Dee Gordon, who leads baseball with a .437 batting average, back in the lineup after he missed Friday's game because of a tight hamstring. San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of his last start and opposes David Phelps, who has settled nicely into a starter's role.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Marlins RH David Phelps (1-0, 3.24 ERA) vs. Giants LH Madison Bumgarner (3-1, 3.03)
Phelps received a no-decision after allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings of a 6-4 loss at Washington on Monday - his third consecutive quality start. The 28-year-old St. Louis native is 1-0 with a 1.88 ERA in four turns since joining the rotation after beginning the season by making two relief appearances. Phelps, who was 15-14 in three seasons with the New York Yankees, has never faced San Francisco.
Bumgarner yielded two hits and struck out six in 7 1/3 innings of a 2-0 victory over San Diego on Monday with Justin Upton breaking up the gem by leading off the seventh with a single. "I wasn't worried about losing a no-hitter," the 25-year-old North Carolina native told reporters. "We established everything pretty early, command felt good. Everything's coming together." Bumgarner is 1-2 with a 4.34 ERA in five starts against the Marlins and has trouble with Giancarlo Stanton (8-for-13, home run, five doubles, four RBIs, two walks).
