alright, I think 25 per man would be reasonable....i will set it up thorugh leaguesafe, that way there will never be any question as to anyone running away with the money. Plus whoever doesn't pay doesn't get in....I don't want to be chasing people....You can pm me or post in here with any questions or ideas....I need to get a list of who wants in so I can email them an invite also.

Should I choose one or both in Nationwide Cup and Sprint Cup championship points series?

I do not like the salary cap.

PSU,   site is fantrax dot com

TG, if you want in, you are more than welcome to compete against everyone this year. Salary cap is needed so that it makes it where someone that knows nothing about the sport , won't come in and win the whole thing by picking all the top drivers.

    Two Questions:

    1. I'm a little confused looking at the rules. Do you choose 8 drivers for each race or for the entire year?
    2. If you choose separately for each race, are driver salaries static throughout the year?

Good questions.  I am very interested in this. None of my buddies are interested.

    2. If you choose separately for each race, are driver salaries static throughout the year? They can stay the same or you can have them adjusted to market. I will look into this question a little bit more.

here is a quick rundown of pretty much how it would work

Now basically the way I have it set now, you could make as many changes to your roster every week, was debating on if there should be a limit per week (say 4 trades per week) , You would start off with a Salary cap and have to fit 8 drivers in every week under your cap. You can make final adjustments to your roster up to 5 mins. before race time on whatever time the race is that day. As for how the points will go , you would get whatever your driver got in real life (nascar points), plus you would get bonuses for laps led, most laps led, pole position, laps completed, Wins, top 5's , top 10;s and top 20's....You would get negative points for a DNF. I can adjust all the values for everything, plus there are other settings that can be added, but after looking them all over, I felt that this would be the best to have in there.

everything in the settings can be customized, so you can do 6 drivers, add all kinds of crazy setting for qualifying speeds, avg race speed bonuses, etc.....

The only thing I do not like is a getting negative points for a DNF. A driver can run out of gas with 2 laps to go or blow an engine with 5 laps to go.

I love that aspect of it, I can lower the amount of points deducted, to say -25 or something, but I thought that was a great idea to have in there. But if everyone is against , I would remove it.

I dont think that is labeled as DNF in NAscar.  I think a DNF is more a blown motor, bad wreck etc. You see a lot of 80+ laps down that are not DNF's. I dont know how that would work here. I do know if you run out of gas you will not get a DNF. You will either coast around or go to the pits and get fuel. Still running at the finish.

My question is will there have to be a draft or can several ppeople have similar teams as long as  they are under the cap?

No draft, you can pick and choose whoever you want on your team up to 5 mins. before the race time as long as you are under the salary cap. There are tiebreakers in place also, but I would be surprised if we ever need them.

Noworries,  pm me or email me (my screen name at yahoo) , Once we get everything finalized, I will send invites out to whoever is going to be in it.

    I'm interested also.

I like the scoring how it is currently set up. The remaining question I have is... why 8 drivers? I guess I would have to see how salaries work out, but that high number seems like it could minimize the risk people could take.

I think that dynamic salaries would make more sense if they can be easily implemented. If not, you'll get situations where a B driver from the previous year (2009 Harvick) will be priced as a B driver but perform as one of the top A drivers (2010 Harvick) every week.

Like I said, we can do 6 drivers , or 10, everything can be customized. I have been in a different contest for the last few years where we get 3 trades for the whole year and have to pick 8 drivers whose salaries are set and do not move...it is fun, but really limits you, and if you screw up your initial team, than you are pretty much done.

When you say Dynamic salaries, you are saying that they adjust throughout the year as the driver does, if he is sucking his value goes down and vice versa when he is doing well?

    Shooter

I'm still not 100% on the rules and regs but I'm definately in.

Paypal the money or mail it ...just let me know.

I'm assuming there will be a list of drivers with salaries tagged to them.

Does the salary change each week? And if it does, does that automaticaly apply to the new weeks roster? Ive been in some contest before where if Driver a had a salary of 10,000 this week and he wins, then next week he went to 15,000 but since I already had him on the roster I got to keep him for 10,000. Am I on the right track here or am I lost?

I meant salaries that vary week-to-week (or segment-to-segment) based on recent performance.

Sorry Madshooter, you're kind of getting barraged by questions for a league whose rules aren't currently set in stone. You've handled it quite well thus far!

Anyway, I'll be game for whatever gets put together.

the money will be paid to leaguesafe.com, that way, there is no chance of the winners not getting paid (not that I would run off with the money anyways) but I have seen it happen before, and I am sure there will be guys who play that don't know me like you guys do.

The salarys can be set to change or keep them locked in, it can be done either way. If they were to adjust, you would be locked in on what you purchased the driver for even though his salary went up. I am open to doing it either way, gonna do a little more research on that aspect of it.

I think this would be a heck of alot more challenging for us than the standard yahoo league, I like the concept of the bonuses and deductions for DNF's, kinda like the fantasy football league that I play in where we play IDP and get bonuses for long TD's and such.

I think you have to rock the big DNF deductions. That sounds more fun.
