Today's ruling is common sense and one huge  win for my favorite game. It will save horse racing in many states. There's no better place for sports books then existing race tracks. Horse and sports betting go hand in hand socially and the tracks will be revitalized with today's ruling. I hope many states immediately roll this out and I know the tracks are waiting. How cool to spend a day at the races betting live races, simulcast races, early games, then staying late night betting the late games with the fellas chasing loses or doubling up wins. Just awesome. Will be a Vegas book atmosphere at every track. Parimutuel handle could double if tracks embrace this and invest in the book and make it fun and modern. New blood betting horses. SO pumped!

On a down note I just loaded the form for Friday and Pimlico and checked the weather and it's like 100% rain both days. Crap. I was begging for a fast track to try and beat Justify with a closer. In the slop that isn't happening. Hopefully the turf can hold at least.

Horse racing has many problems. Last month I bet twenty dollars on a first timer at 6-1. The horse pops the gate and then puts away the 4/5 on the middle of the turn. Odds drop from the 6/1 off time odds to 9/2 on the far turn. Then to add insult to injury the win mutual only returns 9.80. I'm convinced there was post posting. Track management knows and allows it.
Its a shame . Its a great sport but there are integrity issues abound.

Z bar, I have seen this many times before, I believe it is because after the race starts, money from the simulcast outlets gets added into the pools (also plus the final minutes on track wagering), you'd be surprised how much $ is bet at the last minute for various reasons.  Not saying the sport isn't corrupt, but not about this....
