I follow the WAC pretty closely...local team here is New Mexico St.
I saw both these teams play last week. The bottom line is this: Utah St. is a great team at home in Ogden and a mediocre team on the road (from what I've seen and the research I've done).
Nevada is also a great home team and they impressed me when the beat my Aggies last Monday here in Las Cruces. Most recently IN RENO, Nevada pounded San Jose St. (96-67), beat a solid Portland squad (78-69), and killed another good team in Tulsa (99-68). If you look up their schedule you will think the BYU game was at home, but, it was not...it was a neutral court game at the LV Invitational.
Contrastingly, Utah St. has LOST THEIR LAST 3 road games: @ Louisiana Tech (82-60), at New Mexico St. (55-52), and @ Long Beach St. (75-62).
So, I'm taking the solid home team with the low number (-3) vs. the struggling road team...the crowd in Reno should be loud and obnoxious as well, this is a pretty good WAC rivalry.
