Can I get your opinion on a contentious bet I recently placed and your thoughts as to wether it is worth persuing.
So recently I called up and placed a sizable bet on a player who was down towards the end of the first set. Due to the size of the bet it couldn’t be placed instantaneously and had ‘to be taken to the traders for approval’. During this time (around 4 minutes) my player was broken, lost the first set and the match had changed complexion. As I was taken off hold I was told the bet was accepted to which I told them I didn’t want it anymore. Nothing could be done.
I understand if it had gone in my favour I would have been happy as Larry. My grievance is why should the agency have 3-4 minutes to consider a bet. I’m not sure if that’s what they were doing or not but anyway. I feel that the acceptance of a bet is an instantaneous process and not something that can be taken away and deliberated on while the match is changing.
imagine if my bet was the other player to win the first set. Would this bet have still been accepted by the agency 3-4 minutes later when the bet is already won. I’m not so sure...
i would appreciate your thoughts here as I’ve been knocked back in my initial attempts at a refund.
p.s obviously my bloke went on to get dicked in the second set but that is beside the point as I had already asked for it not to be placed

Well, if it takes them three minutes to place your bet then they shall double check with you if you still want that wager because especially in tennis things can change quick...
They never asked you again after the three minutes if you want to still accept the bet?

They had to ask you again because after three minutes odds changed big time...and Everytime odds change you have to re confirm your wager even if it's seconds for example when live betting...you get asked again... Odds are changed do you still want to confirm wager then you have to click place wager again...

No, I obviously tried to opt out when they came back on the phone but it had gone through.
Their stance is that my initial request for the bet gave them permission to consider it. Not sure what they were considering exactly (wether it be limits or wether it was a good bet or not haha)

I know what you saying. I telling you, when they came back on phone and because it took them that long they has to ask you... Sir, odds changed do you still want your wager placed?

I guess their argument is that I agreed to the odds ($3 or whatever) then it had to be taken to the traders, who then accepted. They think that the traders did not consider any line movement in their judgement.
obviously I think the punter should get last right of refusal.

Their argument is , they have no argument. If you take something to trader and it's live wager if he don't confirm that transaction withing five secs ...it's void wager. Because at this point odds changed !

That depends on how you "setup" your odds differential. If you placed a wager at lets say +130 & it changes to +180 during the milliseconds of confirming the wager, it'll still go through, unless you setup your wager requirement as, confirm all wagers when odds change in whichever direction. If the odds change against your favor, then the books "Must" confirm approval.
Now in the case of OP here, the odds changed in favor of OP because his player continued losing, thus giving the OP continuous +EV value. But 3-4 minutes is a scam. I would drop that book asap. Once William Hill app pulled that crap on me(waited almost 30 seconds for the wager to be accepted through the app) & I was pissed because it felt as if WH was pulling a douchebag move by observing the current outcome before accepting my wager....

Becareful when placing any ingame wager, as the real live game is always 15-20 ahead of what you are seeing on tv or online streaming...the books know that most people betting ingame are watching it on tv, and theres still a natural delay...never ever make an ingame wager online until there is an official break in the action like a time out in play...thus you will always get the accurate live line...not a potential fake one about to move either way against you during natural game flow.
