Sheryl Crow was with him, but she let him have the spot light. She was a little quiet, but would talk to you if you approached. Worst was Obama's wife. Total bitch. This was before he was Prez. She even asked me if I could get all the guests out of our restaurant while people were enjoying breakfast. Couldn't believe it. Said NO, and just walked away. She didn't want to sit with those people. Very disappointing. Clintons were OK, let everyone get autographs and pics too. Bill Russell does not sign autographs for anyone. He explained to me he believes autographs are a personal thing, that he believes they are for people he truely knows, not just a one time meeting. Bush was a little short, I got my pic taken and an autograph, but he didn't have time for anyone else. Oh well.

When I was 7 we were at the airport in Moline, IL.
There was a tall black dude signing autographs for a girl scout troop. My mom made me walk over to him and ask for an autograph. He turned to me and said jokingly said "What do you want?"
I fucking lost it. Started crying, ran back to my mom. The tall black dude came over picked me up, hugged me, we ended up on the front page of the newspaper the next day.
Long story short I've met Muhammad Ali.....But had no clue who he was.

When I was 19 I left a local bar only to find John Riggins in the parking lot urinating on my right rear tire. Two weeks later on St.Patricks Day I was at another bar watching the NCAA tourny, when in walks Riggo wearing camo shorts and barefooted. He and some blonde girl take the little cocktail table right next to me and proceed to spend most of the evening on the dance floor. The funny thing was that he kept ordering gin and tonics and while he was dancing I would drink them. He would return to his table periodically and find an empty glass and order more (sometimes two) drinks. A good time was had by all.
I have played basketball with Dennis Scott and Grant Hill. One time Dennis Scott was on my team and announced that his ride was leaving. In order to insure that I stayed on the court I agreed to drive him home if he stayed. He did and we ran the court until we were tired.I then drove him like 15 miles to his house and found him to be very engaging.
I used to regularly sleep over at the house owned by an NFL general manager that won 4 Super Bowls.
After the third round of the 2000 President's Cup Lindsay Graham came by my vacated corporate hospitality tent looking for a beer. Not only did I give he and his friend a couple of beers each, but we spent the next hour following the Gamecocks/Vanderbilt game on my digital pager (there were no smart phones back then).

When I met Kevin Costner I was outside of Three Rivers Stadium after a Steelers playoff game. He had went to the game and he was walking in the parking lot with two women. I saw him from about 30-40 feet away and surprisingly was able to recognize him. I turned around and ran up behind him to see if I could hear him talk to maybe verify that it was him. Once I heard him speak I just said, "Excuse me." He turned around, I knew it was him, but I said, "Are you Kevin Costner?" He just smiled and said "Yeah I am" or something really simple like that. For the next 3-4 minutes I just walked beside him and had a really cool conversation with him. He was really a down to earth guy and nice as could be. I told him how much I liked "Dances With Wolves", he told me thanks, and then he started telling me how he was lost and that every time he comes to Pittsburgh he gets lost.
I said "yeah I know and I do too!" Super nice guy. It was a great pleasure meeting him, and it humbled me. Great experience.

Art Rooney Jr, Joe Greene, Lynn Swann, Deacon Jones, Tony Dorsett, Ben Roethlisberger, Ike Taylor, Sam Wyche (I told him how cool his speech that he made mid field about the fans and how they shouldn't act like Cleveland fans ). What a classic moment! Roger Staubach, Tom Cousineau, Herb Adderly, Lou Groza, Jamall Anderson, Marvel Smith, John Jackson, Ernest Byner, Marion Motley, Andre Reed.
I live in Canton, OH and have been fortunate to have been invited to many HOF festivities. Good times

Richie Blackmore at this bar called 'cheers' where live bands played om Long Island. He played foos ball with my cousin and our friend. of course my cousin had to be on his team. It was fucking awesome. Nice guy and very approachable
Billy Joel on a plane going to Norfolk Va when i was in the navy. I think he was taken aback by us passangers allowing him to be anonymous.
Went to high school with Boomer Esiason.
