Very surprised at reaction here. Not everyone who dabbles in opiates has a problem (learned that lesson hiking in chaing Mai in early 90s. Smoked a ton of opium with a village elder, the guy was as healthy as a horse. Smoked so much that i covered the villages GDP for a year)
probably not a good approach to point out the few examples of those who can handle it as opposed to the large majority of people who can not

Well, then keep dabbling.
You'll be shitting your pants soon enough - literally.

snorting drugs and hanging out with kids. fuck man. are you serious? grow the fuck up. think about how selfish and unfair you're being to your children/other people's children. Even if you think you can handle yourself, you're putting them in harm's way. get over yourself, you selfish fuck.

Coke should be on the bottom, oxy should go on the top.
Or maybe they should both be on the bottom, guess that is the question is this thread essentially, but coke doesn't belong w/ weed/hash.
If coke is a 6 on the dangerous scale, oxy would be a 10. It is essentially synthetic heroin and will eventually own your life. Lots of people do coke from time to time as it isnt a physically addictive drug

If I ever felt like it was a problem, which certainly could happen - I am pretty self aware and should be able to identify the signs - ill just pop some suboxone, which eliminates any cravings or withdrawal symptoms. It's a wonder drug that cures opiate addiction, sorry it wasnt around for some of you old timers. (go ahead, google it you non-believers). I know that our society is undermined by the "easy answer" approach, which I try to teach my kids is definitely not how to live life, but sub is the easy answer for addicts.

I would say that once a week consistently is setting yourself up for potential abuse...
One day you're gonna have a day off from work, or something like that and the whole "Hmmm maybe just this ONCE I'll do it twice this week" thought creeps in and then it's twice a week, and then 3 times and then every day etc, etc....
Did a lot of blow when I was in college unfortunately....it kinda ran rampant in my fraternity and social circle during my junior and senior years. Started with once a month, soon it was every weekend, then every weekend night, including Thursdays. Never had any horrible experiences or something, but def remember sometimes where it would be me and like 4 degenerate friends sitting around playing poker and finishing the last of our blow @ 6 am while the sun is coming up Sunday morning
I always felt I had the mentality where it was just something I did for kicks and wasn't physically dependent on it or anything, but I also knew it was something that would get worse before it got better. Pretty much right when I graduated college I stopped doing it regularly, and don't regret/miss it at all. Saved lots of money. And now every once in a blue moon at a party or club or something I'll partake but it's def been something like 5 times over last 5 years or so. Just smoke a lot of weed and chill now
For the record took one pill of Oxy once and felt like I was in a coma or on heroin or something. I've taken percosets and vikes etc and this was above and beyond. Scary stuff, not for me.
Good luck. If anything I would suggest dropping your usage to once a month or every two months. That way you don't have to give up something you enjoy entirely, yet this way will be much more controlled. Or just go cold turkey, but DEF realize that you're in trouble if your usage increases.

This is possibly the most ignorant thing I've ever read. There may be no hope for this guy

U say ur doing it once a week and snorting a 40...what that really means to me Is ur snorting a 80 3 times a week...there's no such thing as recreational use with opiates, trust me man...they become a big problem fast

Like to hear from anyone with experience. I'll do it once a week, on a Saturday am, and have a great day. No desire to do it during the week, just keeping it occasional. I understand how quickly this can get away from someone, but I've been doing this for a while. Reason I'm asking is that a friend recently told me I'm nuts, that I really have a problem and should seek help
If you do it once a week for a year it probably wont be a problem, but you might be starting a dependence that will become a problem...
the real problem is that your physical and mental addiction to the opiates will progress much faster then your substance-impaired insight about how it is effecting your body and mind...
By the time you figure out you need help or to make a change in your behavior it will be too late because you have spent so much time nodding off and sleeping...
the fuel of an addiction comes more from the strong will power of stubborn justification rather then someone with a weak will power and cant stop...
