Well, disregarding the last 3 years of Texas especially vs the Terps, they have gone 43-10 since 86 when hosting non conference opponents.  The last cusa opponent was utep and they blew them out 41-7.

According to various computers Texas should average 32-34 points per game

The Texas D only has 3 starters back;  and over all returns just 8 starters back....so week one will be determined by the talent that will be taking over for all those positions they have lost, and is that talent alot better to cover a big spread like that v.s. L.A. tech who have lost the last 16 straight ( vs power 5 teams) and gotten beat by an average of 27 ppg by power 5 teams. Holtz himself is 1-12 vs power 5 teams with an average defeat of 21 ppg..... so it all comes down to " does Texas care enough to cover 1 point if its -20 and win by 3 td's"

Now with all that said, yet they will be looking ahead to week 2 at home vs LSU with whom they have won 6 of the last 8 meetings against one another, how ever this is the first meeting since 03 and the first regular season meeting since 1954.....On the flip side of that Texas has Lost 29 of the last 44 games vs ranked foes. I think LSU should beat them that week comfortably.

From the info ive gathered this early on, the better play would be on Memphis to beat ole miss week 1 upset. But alot can happen between now and week one as weve seen players jailed and kicked and even in the case of miami dolphins dt, players getting messed up and loosing limbs before the seasons start

I will indeed bet against the horns when LSU comes to town and rips them all over Austin in week 2

The Georgia team that Texas played was no where near the team it was during the regular season. Do you think Georgia even cared about playing that Bowl Game after being snubbed to play in the playoff games?  It is really idiotic to think they did.

Thats a good point but theres a flipside to that. They shouldve come into that game with a chip on their shoulder for getting snubbed and want to show the world they can roll Texas in the storied Sugar bowl. Seniors last game etc..

I didnt say they were on the same level as bama/clem but certainly not a 4td dog to anyone.

IF......TH can't learn to coach when supposed to win.....AND run the ball with a RB (not named Zeke)....your 2019 may mirror Houston's 2016.....
  * you may in fact beat LSU AND OU maybe as dog.......but then you'll lose to maybe 2 here (@ TCU / @ Baylor / @ Iowa St)......quick when have you beaten Okie St IN AUSTIN?....can't beat the Frogs 2 years straight
$  big Sam ain't Greg Ward......but he takes way too many big hits

BA - you are evaluating Texas based on teh latter M Brown years and Strong years...Their is a transformative shift occuring at Texas...I tink we will lose to LSU but beat OU...Ok St has beat us 4 years in a row. It won't happen this year in Austin...

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?......

Mack Brown?.....Charlie Strong?

I get my stuff can be difficult to follow ha.....but I wrote at length with great detail here and in my thread

AGAIN.....how can a guy with all his faculties present / working OK......not see that many coaches (TH maybe the easiest to spot)......coach his guys harder / are much more aggressive in spots.....but 'let-up' a bit in others???

SO.......you just start from F'IN scratch each game ???
**  all games of equal importance to each coach ?  / what has happened BEFORE has zero bearing on FUTURE EVENTS?.......INCREDIBLE................
