Georgia Southern  is averaging  275 yards per game and only 80 yards in the air

Texas State is averaging 215 yards in the air and 136 on the ground.

Georgia Southern is allowing 221in the air a game while also allowing  156 on the ground.

Texas State is allowing 228 in the air while only 168 on the ground.

Texas State is at home and if they can plug up the running game, and get thier passing attack which is not the best but decent for a team of thier caliber.

Is Vegas banking on the public remembering Georgia Southerns performance against Clemson?

I am taking the home dog on primetime and the over.. Maybe a play on the ML as well.

Werts is thier whole team and he had 61 yards in the air against Arkansas State

Tyler Vitt can sling it as a freshman  and run it also last week had 91 on the ground.

What do you guys think?

My prediction is Texas State 42 Georgia  Southern 31.

Georgia Southern got better defense then what the paper say .. this team remind me of the same 2015 georgia southern team .. the same year , they beat texas st 37 - 13 on the road at texas .. Georgia Southern will give a run for the money , when they play App St .. they are up there with App st .. just my 2 cents

I do not see how Texas St will stop Ga Southern's running game.  They gave up 327 yards rushing last week to ULL.  This one gets ugly early...Ga St 44 Texas St 17

You're picking Texas State as 17 dog to win SU by 11 points?

You're ALWAYS missing something when capping college football. That's why it's so difficult to beat.

G. Southern offense is more than werts. They have a very physical experienced o line. Got a home run threat in Kennedy and got some bruisers with fields and garret. That being said it is a short week on the road, I think the line is pretty good.

How many of you got burned last week with UTEP they were one of those locks against a much tougher team. But instead they killed a lot parlays, if you took UTEP last week kudos to you. But that's my point it is a home game and between two. Willie Jones is Texas State's triple threat and I feel like this is a back door cover. Yes Texas State is a bad defense but it is like  States big game on Nationally. Maybe I will just play the over in this one.

Counting on a backdoor cover with a really bad team is like taking Roseanne Barr to dinner and hoping she turns into Meghan Fox in the sack.

What a joke of a write-up. Of course they’re limited on passing yards, THEY RUN THE OPTION. Georgia Tech played Louisville last Friday and threw 2 passes, completing 1, for 12 yards. The final? 66-31 Georgia Tech. I see similarities in this game. Short week, TXST vulnerable against the run, and Southern has too many athletes on the offensive side of the ball.

This game will never be close:

I placed my bet on this game Tuesday evening. Win or lose, GA.S is the much better team and I expect them to run all over Tx St. Jones III is out and Vitt is a trust freshman. The team got smoked by a low end ULL team last week. I would be surprised ignorance GA.S scores less than 42. With that being said, Tx St. will score at least 17.

I am locked in at -17. Have $550 on it.

Side note - I am laying off the TCU game. That one seems all over the place.

You are comparing Georgia Tech with Georgia Southern. Yes I am a idiot and I hope you win with that big 550 dollar wager. This game is going to be closer then you think. Bol to ya

These forums used to have some old school cats

Now its ambush keyboard tough guys who if you go against thier pick they bash you. I find it funny cause if certain people think GS is going to run them out of their own stadium you should mortgage your house and liquidate all your assets and put it on GS. I mean there is no way Texas State can cover. So go get that mattress money and bang this one out. I am not telling you to play anything BTW I am sorry for wasting your time. I wish you the best of luck and hope your card is a winner. If I am wrong so be it, if I am right makes no difference. But the way you are so confident in GS you should be calling for loans borrowing and doing whatever you can to play GS. 550 and the big that's child play if your 100 percent sure of a blowout. I am locked in at +17.5 and darn it I took the over as well. I lose I meet my man in Queens. I win I will not say a word about this. Vegas was built by all those favorites and locks right? It is like I am holding a gun to your head telling you to play Texas State or else. I really do wish you a great week and I am not being sarcastic. Later

How do you quote a teams passing yards when they only pass the ball 6-8 times a game? You expect 42 pts from a team that avg 24pts and against a team that gives up on avg 18pts game? Is this a april fools joke in October?

Living less than an hour from Statesboro, GA, and having watched almost all these Southern games, they are the real deal in this situation. Texas State last week lost to a team that Southern beat by five touchdowns. They can very very easily cover the spread. TS will have no answer to the option.

The better bet however is First Half GA Southern -10

Shakey...lesson for you...I am sure you meant well with your pick and write-up and you are entitled to your opinion and of course, you might be right...this game could be close and Tx St covers BUT....I think you saw in alot of the other posters opinions that Ga Southern is a superior team in this game and you called for a prohibitive upset of a team that is favored by almost 3 TDs. Sure, on paper the 2 teams appear to be even because you only compared the yardage stats (and yes, you deserved to be called out for your remark about the 80 yds a game passing for Ga Sou.) Teams like Ga Tech, Air Force, Navy, etc run the option and rarely pass. The key to stopping those teams is to stop the run...which Tx State struggles to do; the stats clearly show that. That is what anyone betting Ga Southern tonight is thinking. What is that worth? Nothing...it is just an opinion. I commend you for putting yourself out there but don't get your feathers ruffled if someone disagrees with you. I Heck, I am just happy someone wrote a write up on the game and started a dialogue...that is the reason why we are all here, right?  GL to you and to everyone tonight no matter what you play!
