Army is -6.5 vs Hawaii. Early in the season, there are typically 1-2 terrible travel spots every week in college football. A west coast team coming east and playing at Noon or an east coast team going west playing at 10:30 PM. This week we have one of the worst travel spots in the history of college football involving the Rainbow Warriors.
On Saturday night, Hawaii took down Rice 43-29. Their game ended around 3 AM EST. Their next game is against Army, this Saturday. Some facts about that:
-The flight from Hawaii to NYC is 10+ hours.
-EST is 6 hours ahead of Hawaii time. Hello0oooooooo Jet Lag!
-Saturday’s game starts at 12 PM. That’s 6 AM Hawaii time.
-Hawaii is going up against a team that threw around 5 passes per game last year. In 2018, Army threw just 7 passes last week. This may be good news for Hawaii, as if they aren’t awake at game time, the triple-option offense can serve as their alarm clock.
Imagine waking up at 3:30 AM local time and having to get your body ready to go up against the triple-option offense at 6 AM. BRUTAL. On top of that, Hawaii is currently allowing 5.21 yards per rush in their first 3 games.
Hawaii is leaving Wednesday afternoon and will have a few days to adjust their body clock, but regardless this travel situation has to be one of the worst in college football history. Ironically, Hawaii has done this before, in 2010 they played Army in this exact situation and ended up winning 31-28 in 2010.

I love love love Hawaii here Scal. I know the travel is brutal but McDonald has been phenomenal averaging 48.3 points per game. Army will have absolutely no answer for their passing attack. My book has the ml at +190 and I’m seriously considering it. Already have Hawaii as the last leg of a teaser at +13 that I did with the rams the other night be Oakland. I am surprised this game isn’t a pk

That’s interesting, because in hindsight that would be pretty obtuse of the head coach given their home games are 6 PM Hawaii time and their west coast trips in the MWC start games around 4:00pm Hawaii time...
So all in all, he’s getting them acclimated for ONE game that starts at 6am all season?
With travel, and against the triple option too...
On all counts, your assertion that 6 am practices has them better acclimated is false. It would do the opposite for the rest of the schedule.

And you are attempting to imply that 6 am practices (which by the way id like to see a link for) has them ready and raring to go for the second 6am start ever.
As though the coach has the 6am practices for this one game, throwing off their body clock for all the other games, despite the wins (which are attributable to the run and shoot implementation not the 6am practices).
Anyhow 6am is 6am. It’s not my side but you’re devil’s advocate stance (which is typical in my threads when you show up) is a fail.
And I have it as Wednesday not Tuesday. Where’s your citation for that as well?

When asked Coach Rolo what’s the difference between Navy and Army.......... He said Navy has Ships and Army has Tanks. Hawaii ML.3 stops on D and they have a chance.

Hawaii has been practicing in the early morning for 10-15 years now since the June Jones era...Not a 1 game thing...Also traveling cross country is not new to them... They played @ Umass last season and won..Also 2nd road game of the season. This year is all business for them..No sight seeing (9/11 memorial) etc like they did last year. Flew out Tuesday from the 808...

Dear God. I asked if you ever read what YOU write.....but obviously that's too Obtuse.
Some crappy journalist named John Feinstein wrote this yesterday in some rag named The Washington Post. .... :)
I was miserable,” Hawaii Coach Nick Rolovich said about last season before he and his team boarded a plane for New York on Tuesday ahead of the Rainbow Warriors’ fourth game of this season, Saturday at Army
P.s. There's this service called "Google" that will take you to the article...

body clock angle is always a crucial capping skill, I look for these all the time...just look at how bad Michigan State faded in the 4th Q vs Arizona St...that was a perfect example of kids being too tired from being up too long...this one is the exact opposite, and although I would consider this wager, Army is not backing here in my opinion, and it could be a very special year for this Hawaii team as they have exceeded all expectations and are playing really good as a team...perhaps they have channelled their inner "Hawaiis strong" following their local weather disaster just before their first game of the season and are using it as their rallying cry. I think there are much better games on the board than this one, however if I can get Hawaii +7 I would indeed consider it

Not backing a side here. Just pointing out a circumstance that may never happen again.
Irish I used google and the article I posted said they arrived Wednesday. You have it as boarding a plane on Tuesday. Do you know their arrival time. Probably Wednesday. Try finding out.
And I still don’t see a link that they practice at 6am as you claim. I looked for one.
Although I did find a link on YouTube.
This, for all intents and purposes doesn’t look like it’s 6am

It’s quite curious to see so many people act, how should I put this, enthused and even embracing this 6am start for Hawaii, particularly against the triple option, a grinding wear and tear of a defense.
Covers, there’s nothing like it...
Really, it’s a sight to behold.
Up is down and down is up.
I should change my avatar to Rod Serling smoking a cigarette.

Wow Scal...it's eerie how similar your analysis is to the one on SB Sports......
Well sorry, the EXACT time of Hawaii's flight is a big secret, lol.....but with a 10 hour flight, it's safe to say they got in late Tuesday night. Good enough....the point veing, they left a day earlier, NOT what SN Nation /Scal reported, lol.??
2nd...the longest trip/ time change would be in 2016 when Hawaii played Cal in Sydney week 1 and then went NINE time zones to play Michigan in Ann Arbor. Week 2.
Next time, just post the url...or change your name to SB.... :))

Normal style in writing is to use quotes, not italics.
Some authors of fiction, notably James Joyceand William Gaddis, used an em dash at the beginning of a paragraph. But that was an idiosyncratic usage. Since this is an element of style, you are free to do whatever you wish, but remember that you may only winding up confusing your audience if you stray too far from what they perceive to be customary.

And by the way, the Game in Australia fails to apply here and common sense dictates that since BOTH teams traveled through those time zones providing no advantage to either team.
Your age betrays you Irish.
You’ll get there one day...but today’s not that day.

Again....do YOU ever READ what YOU write (before hitting the Submit button...)
Let's spell it out s..l..o..w..l..y......
1. Hawaii went to AUSTRALIA to play CAL (not Michigan) in week 1. 3 time zones to...(well considering who I'm writing to ) the LEFT...
2. AFTER that game, Hawaii's NEXT game (WEEK #2!!) was against MICHIGAN - in Ann Arbor. THIS game (you know...against MICHIGAN) was NINE (9) time zones back the other way to the RIGHT.
3. ONLY HAWAII traveled through NINE (9) time zones for the Michigan game. To make this easier for you to understand....MICHIGAN did NOT travel through 9 time zones.
You'll get there someday Scal....but considering your difficulty in understanding how time zones work....that day will likely never come.....
Stick to trying to tell a guy with 65% + on how to cap his hometown team.....

How eerily similar “your” analysis??? My analysis???I copied and pasted it. That’s why it’s italicizedEven the big space in between was an advertisement that didn’t post.
Oh my...Scaarrogant...you are SUCH the IDIOSYNCRATIC SOPHISTOCAT!!
Of course, you know your Covers audience so well that they will all say:
"Oh Scal used italics - he's obviously cutting and pasting this from another source". This of course instead of just posting the url like 99% of the rest of the Forum does.
Oh....and by the way....you may have copied the text....but you used YOUR OWN headline. That's a no-no Scarrogant....any journalism intern knows that.
Here's the "Cut & Paste" headline....
I added the Italics instead of using quotation marks like the REST of the world - just for you and Jimmy Joyce and Billy Gaddis..., LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
And you're trying to pressure our Syracuse expert to cap that game??
