lol TC fucking U... I hate those pussies. Playing in the Mountain West is the only reason they've been relevant. Let them see how the Big 12 treats them, I saw an O/U on their season wins at 8.5, I straight pounded the under. No way they win 7 games, probably will be relegated to the ole gallery furniture.com bowl

Oklahoma. Not a good comparison. Why? There Oklahoma, they have tons of great talent and depth to make the difference. These Super big programs.. (and I consider only about what I would call 10 super programs) have enough overall talent and depth most of the time to hide some weaknesses.
Hawaii - again not a good comparison. Why? They play in the WAC.... anymore questions on that?
Texas Tech - Good Comparison. Why? Because when leach was there it's called coaching. He made the difference. Where as there not Oklahoma they have to be able to make a " difference " some where. Where was it? Coaching. What about now with Tub's there? Not the same...Why? Coaching
Tubs makes me fucking sick to my stomach, ole Chancellor Hance did us raw in running Leach off... pathetic anyways how TCU is ranked in the top 15 with absolutely no previous experience with a schedule as tough as they will face this year. Until they prove they can win more than 1 game against a shit big 10 team in january i will never be sold. WRECK EM TECH

Boom - I think that you misunderstood my post. It was in response to Hookem's post #17 where he was responding to post #6 (that said Okie State would struggle because of loss of QB and WR).
Hookem's point was that Okie St. will likely not fall off too much because they have a good system for QB to slide into and be successful. I was agreeing and was pointing how other teams with similar offensive schemes typically turn our good QB' s (at least good collegiate QBs in terms of stats).
Yes OU has great talent year in and year out so they will not slide off too much. And they also have an offensive scheme that will yield good QBs (similar to Okie St.)
The Hawaii comparison was referring to the years when they also turned out several successful collegiate QBs year after year. Partly due to competition but also due to scheme.
And the Tech comparison was also that under Leach they also had a scheme (and good coaching) that also yielded good collegiate QBs year after year. Some of the reason that they do not have that now probably related to Tuberville's ability as a coach but also because his offensive scheme is completely different that the fast paced schemes of Okie St, OU, and the TEch and Hawaii of years past.

I have no ties to TCU and I am not wanting to start a pissing match here but I would be willing to place a fairly substantial bet with you that TCU will beat Tech when they play this upcoming year.

In fact I would like to extend the offer to include that TCU will have a better record in the Big 12 than Tech as well.

You obviously haven't been paying attention. TCU is a serious legit football team and there here to stay. What makes them so good? Gary Patterson

When the ran leach off Isaid right that moment that Tech made the biggest mistake of there programs history. Why? Because they had no history before leach and he will prove @ Washington S.T why he's such a great coach...

fuck ya we'll lose in fort worth, we will be the doormat of the Big 12 cause Tubs ruined our program, still doesn't mean they'll top 8.5 wins. We won't go bowling but they'll do no better than Independence bowl mark my words.

Tuberville did what he did at Auburn and Ole Miss where he was basically had his pick of the top prospects in his states. Gary patterson has had MULTIPLE TOP (AS IN #1 IN THE COUNTRY) RATED DEFENSES at TCU where his school wasn't even a top 5 draw for prospects in his own state. No comparison man, they don't even belong in the same sentence.

I think that they will manage just fine. But either way it will be cool to actually be able to see them play good teams on a weekly basis.

I also comment quite a bit on DoubleTnation, our SB nation blog, and I'm not going to get into Tech football with people who have no idea the ins and outs of our program. That being said I couldn't agree more with you it ain't the first time I've heard or said our admin made the biggest mistake EVER by firing Leach. From NY times magazine and 60 minutes to giving up 45 at home to shit Iowa State and having a defense that couldn't stop a middle school B team. This is not about how bad my Red Raiders are but how you erred in posting TCU in the top 20 after years of playing straight garbage in the MWC. They will not finish the season in the top 20 and will be relegated to the Pinstripe or Independence bowl.

On DoubleTnation we refer to Craig's son as Nancy... always have always will. Craig is the only person to single handedly run two programs into the ground (ours and SMU circa 80s)

latest rumor in longhorn country is that a deal is near to have all of ND's non-football teams join the big 12 soon. If this is the case than you have to think that the Big 12 has the upper hand on eventually getting ND football. The talk is that the whole UT thanksgiving game possibly against ND is a huge draw.
