1. Texas 2. Clemson 3. Oklahoma State 4. Wisconsin 5. Florida 6. Louisville 7. Nebraska 8. Virginia Tech 9. Michigan State 10. Stanford 11. Tennessee 12. South Florida
Not sure what his criteria is for a "surprise team," but I would not be the least bit surprised if Texas, Clemson, Oklahoma State, Wisconsin, Nebraska or Virginia Tech have good seasons.

They recently just had a top 5 recruiting class?
Next year they'll start out in the top 3, and Braxton Miller will be preseason heisman darling....MID.

Im surprised anyone is expecting the Gators to do well before they see them play but a lot has changed in the off season.
Well I think you explained it correctly in a previous post (I don't remember where exactly). With Muschamp adding a lot of the pieces he needs to run his system, I think this will be similar to the metamorphosis we saw between Saban's first year and his second. I don't think it'll be quite as dramatic, but I think it'll be a significant improvement nonetheless.
Their defense should be outstanding. The big question mark for them will be the QB position. I realize this is stating the obvious, but they'll need to generate a lot more offense this season, and I think that'll happen. Both of their talented young QBs got their feet wet last season. With the benefit of another offseason, I expect to see much better QB play this season.
Florida will be a very tough team this year. No one will be running over them - not Georgia, LSU or FSU. Those will obviously be huge game for the Gators. Those are the games that will show us far they've grown. Ultimately I think they have a great shot to win their division. If I can get a good number on them, I may lock in a futures bet on them to win the East.

Well you stated the big difference from Sabans 2nd year and like I have said a few times, we don't have a seasoned vet QB like JP was for Bama that year and he performed well beyond most expectations but I remember telling everyone he was about to gel at the right time because I played with him and watched his progression slowly. If all the pieces stay in place and injuries don't kill us like they have the last few years, the defense could be consistently nasty and be a top 5 unit all year if not higher. There are some young kids coming in the 2 deep this year that will straight knock your head off and have instincts of veterans. Im amazed at what I see at the age of some of the kids, Powell being out hurts but he has been nothing short of a bust so far but he was coming along finally. Easley and Floyd should wreck house up front this year.

The thing I like most about Muschamp is he sugar coats NOTHING, he tells you where the team is and what needs to be improved. From what I have seen and heard from many sources is that the OL is coming together for the first time in way too many years and there is a lot of experience up there on the front line now and we have some downhill runners in the backfield for literally the first time since Zook was there (Thank God). Gillislee could finally break out and have the year all us Gator fans have been shouting for the last 3 years and keep the chains moving and grind clock. Im loving what I see from Pease, he is perfect for the college game and perfect for UF to bring back that Spurrier esque style of balance and hitting you deep at any moment off PA passes. Weis really let everyone down last year.

FSU will not go undefeated: Clemson, USF, VT or Florida will trip them up at least once. They start the season with BTB FCS teams: Murray State and Savannah State.
OU will lose a few games. Big Game Bob Stoops is a joke.
