Nothing about this game says OVER. How often do we see a # this low? I don't think Arrieta has fallen off the face of the earth just yet. He had a late start to the off season, only pitching 5 innings this spring.
Pittsburgh's lineup isn't scary through the first 5 innings vs RHP's over the last 8 days: hitting .219/.638 w/ a wOBA of .269.
Throw in a "night" split and they are hitting .122/.369 with a wOBA of .162.
I think Jake can get through the 7th inning today. Kapler has seemed to have taken the criticism wisely, and has taken his foot off the sabermetrics pitch count pedal lately.
I'll use only 2 words to explain the bottom half of every inning: Jameson Taillon.
14 mph wind blowing in from left center.
My best guess is that the public is pounding this low n easy #, which is why the juice is where it is. Books ain't budging off of 7.
I tend to be wrong a lot, so I would love a good counter argument to this play.

The BrewCrew hasn't been hitting LHP well at all the last week.
Dillon Peters has had 2 good outings out of 3 this year. But that one vs Philly has his #'s jacked up out of whack. Remember that 1-20 loss? He pitched only 2.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 9 earned with 3 walks. What to think? The kid got smacked in the mouth. Could it happen again? Sure, who knows.
Chase Anderson has looked great, but not vs RHB's which is unconventional. He's allowed them to hit .275/.856 and striking out only 1 for every 7.66 plate appearances. The Fish will use 6 righties today. Bour and Dietrich are the only lefties besides the pitcher, and they have had success vs Anderson. In a small sample.
