I am beginning to wonder about collusion. None of the major
free agents has found a home and it is getting late. Could the execs and gm’s
be doing more negotiating with each other than with the agents? Maybe who goes
where and for how much money is being worked out on a different level than it
is supposed to be? I hate conspiracy theories, but I also hate a fishy smell.

I usually like to wait until Spring Training to even think about what the new season going to look like. But c'mon how could there be zero going on even apart from free agents?
Anyway being the old timer that I am time goes really fast - and I'd like for it to go slower - but before you know it the crack of the bat hitting that oh so juiced ball will be resonating from my super surround sound home theater here in Colombia with me and the MLB package and no announcers - just the field noises as if I were at the game. Now all I need are Yankee franks and pretzels. The beer is always better in my apartment than the watered down draft swill at the stadium.
I think I'll try to make a game this year.
I really wanted to see Sale pitch at Fenway.
So where should I go - more based on stadium than matchup - Wrigley? Fenway? PErhaps one of the newer or renovated stadiums like Camden Yards?
I love Chicago as a city.
I'm not a robot

ya man what gives!
ya man what gives!
JD Martinez and Scott BorAss are both idiots!
It's like every time he represents ANYONE, that player should be the highest paid player on EARTH.
Mike Trout is going to make 26 mil this year (34 mil next year). If he's not the best player, let's dance.
So, how does JD Martinez expect 210 over 7 years? Because let's face it, don't players always have great years when they are 45-36-37? I'm sure Borass will pull out reams of charts showing how JD will do what nobody else has ever done (except for B*rry B*nds, cough cough)
How many players didn't even start playing full time until 26, go on to have great careers? Don't worry, Borass will show you how JD will be the first.....
Here's a guy who has been in the league since 2011, and has played more than 123 games JUST ONCE. But, again, Borass will have him playing 162 games for you if you just sign him. Okay, maybe 150. Wait, I guarantee 140. What? We can't sign a contract with performance guarantees?
Well, hey, then. JUST TRUST ME. Worked out well for the Yanks and ARod, didn't it?

Thank you, Under
Ed: should read 35-36-37
The idea of JD making this kind of dough is ludicrous. I'd love to ask Borass, "Clayton Kershaw makes 30 million. How do you justify JD making even CLOSE to this kind of money?"
Oh, and before some bean counter looks up his salary on bref.com and tell me it's actually 31.267 million, F you.....

Mookie Betts rolled a perfect 300 game in the World Series of Bowling this fall in Reno. Great effort as a professional baseball player crossing over to another sport.

Nice article.
I didn't realize that the MLB went over 10 billion in revenue for the first time this year. Looks like the owners want to avoid the harsher luxury taxes, what a surprise.
So the NBA and NFL is honoring their players to the percentage of revenue earned, and the MLB is being the lowly slithering snake here? I would of never thunk it!
Players are objecting new pace of play changes, but the MLB is "unilaterally" going to implement them??
I'm in a union, work my a s s off every day. Our contract is up at the end of February so all this workers vs owners stuff has been bouncing around my head for months.
The article made my blood boil a little bit Key...I'm on the players sides full force. Strike talk would make me smile the more I think about it.
