You really think that Australia can hang with Russia? Or is it because you anticipate that Russia will rest their starters having clinched the #1 seed? Think Russia's length and defense will pose problems for the Aussies and Shved better matchup on Mills than Reinking was.

Russia is going to finish first and Australia fourth in the group regardless of what happens in this game, so in essence this match up is somewhat meaningless. Russia's average margin of victory in their 4 wins is 10 points per game and this includes a 19 and 20 point win against China and GB. Their other two wins came against Spain and Brazil by a combined 4 points. Meanwhile Australia crushed both China and Brazil by a similar margin however the Aussies two losses to Spain and Brazil were by a combined 15 points but they did manage to get the cover in both losses. With this game being meaningless it's my opinion that 7.5 points is well worth the value.

No, If Boomers win they can clinch 3rd spot. If they lose they will be 4th and face plympic death vs USA.

I'm with you 44 dimes...this game is meaningless since both Brazil and Spain beat Australia and they both lost to Russia. A similar game took place in Beijing where Lithuania was tops in Group A and got beat by 31 against Australia on the final day of qualifiers. Australia should at least keep this close

I think you guys are wrong.....this is the one thing FIBA needs to change...this happened to Canada's U17 team this year...
Canada and Argentina were tied for 3rd in their pool....but, Argentina had a better point differential than Canada...even though, during pool play...Canada beat Argentina head to head.....and that is not right. I think that is why these teams have something to play for.....
