NE
has handled Denver easily the last couple years, but Manning and the
Broncs have shown me enough this year to think that this spread is a
little out of line. I'm looking for a classic battle here with a FG to
win at the end. I'll take the pts.

Car-3 vs. Sea
Panthers
off a really tough road loss to Atlanta in a game they should have
won. Sea Hawks off a loss in St.L, travel to Carolina for a consecutive
road
game. Seattle with much the better defense, being second in the
league in pts. allowed, but a
rookie QB who is taking his lumps. Panthers with the better offense
finally got a running game going LW involving RBs in addition to Cam
Newton. I'm takin' Cam over rookie Wilson in this one and hope the
Carolina D can hold Marshawn Lynch.
Car-3 vs. Sea one star
SF-9 vs. Buf
Not
a good matchup for Buffalo to begin with and with the injuries to the
off. line it is difficult to see them staying with a tough Niners team
here. SF torched the Jets LW on the road, but Harbaugh pretty good at
keeping his guys on an even keel. Not an easy way to make a living,
laying 9, but here goes.
SF-9 vs. Buf two stars
Jets+9 vs. Hst
OK.
We've all seen similar situations to this one dozens of times. A team
is seriously under performing, has a QB who is playing like crap and
both are under the scrutiny of a merciless press. In this case, the
Jets just lost
their last game at home, 34-0, albeit to SF,
and are facing
possibly the best team in the conference. I have taken the favorite in
games like this more times than I care to remember and I don't think I
have ever cashed the ticket. This is Mon Nite Football; the Jets are
at home and, while they have lost their best CB and WR, are still
comprised of professional football players who have, presumably, at
least some pride. Sometimes you just have to grow up and be a real NFL
handicapper..or maybe just a complete idiot. I will take the Jets.
