If your interested, check out my write up last year when the colts played the 49ers in their first game. The same situation applies. Instead of Singletary, its Spagnolo who will have his guys fired up and ready to win. This line should come out Rams -4 or 4.5 and I will hammer the fucking shit out of it, like I have the past 7 years.
Reasons to take the Rams:
A. Peyton Manning will play 2 series. Once he's done, Curtis Painter takes over. That should be enough for anyone who has seen this hillbilly attempt to pass the ball.
B. Coach Jim Caldwell, like his predecessor, Tony Dungy, couldn't give a fuck less about winning anything in the pre-season. He is happy to lose. All he cares about is not getting guys injured, while watching all the shitty bench players get demolished.
C. Steve Spagnolo, unlike Jim Caldwell or Tony Dungy, does care about winning. He has a young QB and players on his team that want to win this game. This young team cares about this game a whole lot more than their opponents.
This is always my biggest bet of the year and will always be my biggest bet of the year until Peyton gets a new coach and or retires.

While I see this possibly being a nice wager, am gonna wait for a few things to panout first. See what happens in free agency, what players get cut, when rookies will get signed, etc.
Rams are running a new O scheme with McDaniels around. Depends when they start the season/preseason to determine how many reps they would end up taking. Though very valid point with Indy having Painter as backup. Rams have Feeley and an agile T Lewis as 3rd stringer. Be interesting to see who all the Rams keep on the WR front, seems like they have about 10 guys now since they just drafted a few more.

to me, not a lot in free agency will affect this game. yah a few players might be signed, but AJ Feeley is a MUCH better option than Painter & Tom Brandstader.

Hard to talk football when nothing is going on. It's really irritating that there isn't any free agency or anything. At this point we could be talking about who signed who, and who's improved by signings and such. NFL Lockout/Playstation Network Down, what's next?

WHOOOOOODDDDDDDDEYYYYYYYYY!!!
Good to see yah brotha! I think its easy to talk about football at any time, especially when this lockout is PURE bullshit and there will be football played because its too big and important not to be played.

So if fading the Colts in the first week of the pre-season is a good idea...what about fading the Patriots??? Not that i have any preseason betting experience i always choose to skip it...but i'm pretty sure Brady gets 1 or 2 series as well and then its down to the bench players or does Bill do things differently???

Never liked betting on pre-season. But if I did, I'd stick with just first halves. They are often pretty close to the same line. Come 4th quarter pre-season all hell breaks loose.

You hit the nail with the hammer right there. Bill does things to his own tune, which who knows what the hell kinda tune that is. Sometimes, he enjoys winning in the pre-season, while at others, he couldn't care less. I stay the hell away from them. I believe this mantra only works because of the Colts and how top-heavy their roster is with Peyton Manning
