don't know what's up with Jordan Staal BUT he passed on a long term contract with the Penguins. speculation is he wants to join his brother Eric after next season

Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says the "hots" for trades going into the draft @ CEC this weekend are forwards Rick Nash (Columbus) and Bobby Ryan (Anaheim), defenseman Jay Bouwmeester (Calgary) and goalie Roberto Lungo (Vancouver).

I agree with Lippsman about 'Bobby Lou". WHO wants to pick up THAT contract?

Yakupov to the Oilers @ #1. talking of an "All #1" line of Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Yakupov next season BUT there IS some talk about him going to the KHL because Igor Larionov IS his agent and he has strong ties to the KHL

Penguins Jordan Staal to Hurricanes announced during the draft. my Pennies get forward Brandon Sutter, defenceman Ryan Dumoulin and the 8th pick wihich they used to select puck moving D-man Derrick Pouliot who is supposed to be another Kris LeTang.
helps the Pittsburgh "cap space" and hopefully Sutter can cover as #3 center. also heats up talk that the Pens may now be in the Zach Parise sweepstake

yes. saw that today and also rumors that they might ship his D partner Paul Martin. I'm think that Ray Shero and Danny Bylsma think that "big body" D man Simon Despres will be ready to step up next season and possably Alex Picard too. BOTH played well last season in their games with the Pens. Despres was 1 G 3 A and a +5 in 18 games with Picard 0 4 and a +4 in 17.
I guess the Predators retained Shea Weber for now with a $7.5 million one year for next season according to https://capgeek.com/players/display.php?id=1042. he's the REAL "prize defensman" other teams would like to get.
