good ponts both Johny and Vanith. I agree that JDS will likely KO Mir quickly, but he seems to be a bad matchup for pretty much everyone right now. The ground game specialists have to find a way to get inside for a TD and will all get caught on way in. The onlt striking specialist that could compete may have been Reem. Then there's Carwin who just cant get KOd and took a beating in the process.
Yes, styles make fights... but for a title shot you can't worry about that. It is who deserves it, and I don't think Cain deserves it. He beat Brock, who has proven to be not a great fighter. Got Kod so quickly in his first defense. Plus the age factor. Cain will get another chance. Mir is getting old.

I think heavyweight division is stagnant due to the weight range. No fighter that would weigh 205-225 wants to give up 40 pounds. That's a lot of power to give up. No other weight class enjoys more than a 20 lb range. I think you would see a lot more movement if it went:
Heavy weight 206-230
Super 231+

Not sure I follow you. So then that would just create a totally crappy stagnate super heavy division that no one cares about.
There is that much of a gap because if you had just a bunch of fat guys in the top division the division would suck. JDS, Cain, Roy, Corimer would all just make 231 and balloon back up to 245. Hell even guys like Mir, Werdum, and others would make the 231 by cutting weight. You are basically just proposing to combine the 2 divisions together and force all the small 205ers to go to 185.
There is also a bigger gap because these guys are bigger. THey have more body fat to lose or gain.
I don't like the idea at all. It would just water it down even more and the super heavy division would almost be unwatchable besides the couple top guys.
The HW division is better than it has ever been.
