Washington is a -2 favorite in this game at home. Take Washington -2 at home. Boise State is NOT the same team they were 3, 4, 5 years ago with Kellen Moore. Washing is REALLLLLLLY GOOD at home.

Final score: Washington 28  Boise State 20

this will be a close one, but I am on boise state +4, and in the end I see them winning it,outright. coach petersen always has boise ready in week 1 as over the past few years they have faced their best competition of the year during week 1. with a big game during week one  I favor the team with the better coach and petersen has proven himself as one of the top 10 in college football over the past few years. BOISE  STATE+4 medium play

Wash is the play ( -3.5 or -4 now ) for the following reasons

1.  There is an early reverse line move on Wash.  Betting consensus from Sports Insights shows 65% of early action on  BSU but the betting line is moving the opposite direction ( -3 to -4 ).  This is a 55% situational play on Wash stretching back about 5 years.

2.   Public Underdog - It is rare to see the public go all in on a dog but when they do, they lose at about a 58% rate.  Another reason to play Wash.  If the line comes back to -3 or less, make it a two unit play instead of a 1 unit play.

I like Boise here. As stated by thesoulpurpose, Coach P always has Boise ready for the first game of the year...with the exception of the ugliness last year at Michigan State. In the three year's previous opening games, Boise beat...and covered vs. Georgia, Virginia Tech (both away games) and Oregon. Those teams went a combined 31-10.

Washington is good at home. True, but they went 2-4 ATS against ranked teams last year.

Boise +4...but they win outright.

I have the utmost respect for Coach Peterson, but there is no clear cut favorite in this opening game, just not enough known yet.  Because the matchup looks so close between these two, look at last year's bowl result from their game, Washington is a slight pick from me.  Opening in the new home stadium should be enough of an enthusiasm boost to allow them a close win, but covering more than a FG is pushing it.  No play for me.  GL to all.

this will be a a close game, as last year was with washington's defense held boise's potent offense to fgs in the redzone for the most part of the 1st half. boise st has had great runs year in and year out for openers. but that was with kellen moore.... he controlled that offense. and with about half the starters on defense and offense back for boise. washington needed help in offense, and they are returning i believe all 11 on offense? i'd have to check if any injuries or suspensions, so don't quote me. and washington's stingy defense, and 11 returning starters on offense, and 7 on that defense. i'd lean on washington (buy the hook if u must), but under seems like a better play too. good luck to every one

Boise State is the obvious play here and 9 out of 10 of my models back this up.  Don't let the big conference team fool you - Boise is better in all areas.
