Burnley @ Chelsea
35 yrs since they last met in top flight. Last visit Burnley won 4th round Carling Cup ly in penalty shoot-out,5-4.
Chelski aiming for 9th straight league victory, unbeaten in 11 (10w,1d).
Revenge game for Chelsea who have looked very good so far. Burnley have had a fantastic start, all epl games have gone under so far this yr. 2 penalty saves the difference between 2 and 6pts.
can't see them beating Man U, Everton and Chelsea in a row.
only road game 2-0 loss at Stoke.
like Drogba to score -110...as -700 doesn't look enticing. he scored last yr vs Burnley in cup tie.
West Ham @ Blackburn
Blackburn in danger of losing 1st 3 games in top flight since 1947/48. Blackburn cheapest to watch in epl, 3rd cheapest in all
of football league, behind Huddersfield and Accrington Stanley.
Doubt-Samba, Chimbonda-Debut.
Rovers have lost only 2 of 12 epl games at home since "Big Sam" took over.
West Ham have scored in all 15 league and cup meetings this decade. Hammers unbeaten in last 3 at Ewood Park.
Rovers are desperate for pts and Big Sam has stated that a clean sheet is vital. Blackburn were hard done by at Sunderland last week and deserved at least a pt. finishing has been a big
problem so far this season, missing many good opportunities in their 1st 2 games. they did score 3 mid week in Cup play vs Gillingham. 1-1 tie looks good. can't see Rovers lose.
Liverpool @ Bolton
Pool have won last 5 vs Bolton outscoring them 15-1. Liverpool's
worst start in 6 yrs. they haven't lost back to back in league play since Dec 2007.
Bolton have gone 9 epl games w/o a win. only team to not score a goal in league play this yr.
Liverpool should bounce back from very poor performance vs Villa.
pressure will be high for them to win convincingly. 1.57 on Liverpool looks good. debating a bet here.
Sunderland @ Stoke
Stoke debut for Huth, Shawcross and Beattie are doubts.
Stoke 35 of 45 pts ly at home. 4 defeats were to Everton, Chelsea, Man Utd and West Ham.
Sunderland looking to win back to back EPL road games for 1st time since Nov 2004. Black Cats best start in epl.
Stoke won 1-0 at home in last yrs meeting and have been very tough to take pts off of at home. with Jones and Bent up front Sunderland always look capable to score. I like the draw here.
probably a parlay wheel game.
Birmingham @ Tottenham
Birmingham 1 win in last 14 trips to London, but that was at Three
Point Lane....sorry White Heart Lane. Brum did the double in 2007 vs Spurs 3-2 away, 4-1 at home. only 2 total goals in 3 epl games this yr.
Spurs haven't lost at home since last Nov to Everton.
Tottenham have looked fantastic so far this yr. 11 players have
scored this season. give them credit they are a good team with excellent balance to the squad. Tottenham -1.5, +105 looks interesting. over 2.5. -138 and defoe to score -125 are plays to look at.
Hull @ Wolves
Teams have met only 14 times since ww2. Wolves have only 3 clean sheets in 20 epl home games.
Hull haven't won consecutive league games since Oct ly. Hull committed the most fouls in 2008/09 and lead this yr with 59.
Hull would have finished 8th ly if only away games were counted.
Hull definitely have improved their team with recent additions I think they will be safe this yr. I belief Altidore is tailor made for
the epl and they will score more. Wolves have played their worst game at home and continue to have problems scoring. Hull are a look at +260 as they look more likely to score.
Arsenal @ Man Utd
the big game this week. Arsenal have lost 6 of last 8 at Old Trafford. Man U had the best home record ly winning 16 of 19 home games. Utd however only won 1 of 6 games vs big 4 ly
Arsenal lost only 1 of 6 vs big 4 ly. Gunners have lost only 1 of last 26 epl games.
Utd are always tough to beat at home and these managers know each others tactics well. on current form Gunners should win, they have looked awesome. Utd do not look the same w/o Ronaldo and
Tevez. pace and skill have been lost. Scholes is being asked to play way too much for a soon to be 35 yr old. they are missing a cutting edge player and I can't believe they haven't spent some money to fill this problem. Gunners are the play at +250
Man City @ Portsmouth
35 goals in 12 epl games between them. Man City haven't won at Portsmouth since 2004. City only 2 wins away ly. City have been responsible for 1/3 of all transfer activity this yr. in epl.
56yrs since Portsmouth lost 1st 4 league games. worst start to epl season and looking to avoid 5th straight league loss.
Distin latest player to leave Fratton Park. Man City have played 3 good halves and 3 bad halves. no one so far has made them pay for their poor play. 3 clean sheets are a bit of a mirage as I think
their defensive team play and structure are average at best. but their skill and quality going forward always makes them a dangerous.team. can't believe they have played all unders.
call me crazy Portsmouth +550 on a whim.
Wigan @ Everton
Wigan 9 changes to lineup, Manager furious with play, only 2 road wins in 2009.
Everton have lost only 2 of 10 epl games at home in 2009. 19yrs since they last lost 1st 3 league games.
Everton 20th in league should be desperate for a win in front of home fans. Everton -138 looks very good. Wigan after a super 1st game have been brutal, losing 4-1 to Blackpool mid week. Everton won last meeting 4-0 at Goodison Park.
Fulham @ Aston Villa
Villa only 2 clean sheets in last 20 games. Jan 09 last time Villa won consecutive epl games. 10th best home record ly. 1973 last time Fulham won a league game at Villa park.
Villa made adjustments vs Liverpool using 5 midfielders dropping the 3 inside midfielders deep, almost like 7 at the back to help cover for defence. will be interesting to see how they play this week. Fulham look defence 1st and loss of Johnson up front has and will hurt. don't like their striker options and Villa are more likely to score. look for under 2.5 here.
top bets Drogba to score -110, Everton -138 and Arsenal good value at +250.
like the villa under 2.5, Stoke/Sunderland tie, Blackburn/West Ham tie and a sprinkle on Portsmouth.
