Further to your question, DL, people like Rush do not help the Republican's cause. He's a flamethrower just like morons on the left like Ed Schultz. How Rush has so much influence on the party is a mystery. Might also be a reason why the Republicans are losing elections on a national scale. Just my opinion.

Can not win what, exactly?
GW Bush won 2 terms.
In 2004 Tom Daschle was thrown out and the R's had 55 Senate seats.
Since 1946, the president's party has almost invariably suffered losses in one or both chambers of Congress. The one exception: the 2002 midterms.
Oh, and Rush was front & center for the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994.
Oh, and today Republicans fully control 26 state legislatures and have 30 Governors.

I think you are correct that if the people on the right follow clowns like Rush, the Republicans will lose elections. I don't agree with your statement about the GOP intentionally going out of their way to lose elections. The Rush followers are not the reason for any election loss, it's more likely that people like Rush push away the all important Ind. vote and even those on the left looking for a reason to vote conservative.
As I stated before, I don't like or listen to the man. I don't listen to talk radio at all and rarely watch news on TV. I've been in Mexico all week and the only news channel is CNN. Not a fan, but Erin Burnett (sp?) is pretty good.
Oh and Beck is just crazy....I think we agree.

You proved his point by throwing out numbers like 1994, 2002 and 2004.
As for the state legislatures, it has much more to do with re-drawing the states' district maps than popular support. The sooner they realize that, the better for them...
