Holtz had to go and I think that USF could have done a lot worse than Taggart. I've never thought of USF as a team that had a dominating ground game, that will change now.

I went to HS with Skip Holtz. He was a slightly above average student, player, and kid. The fact that he is, after nearly two decades as a HC, only a few games over .500 is entirely consistent with the guy I knew 30 years ago. And I liked him - had no personal complaints about him whatsoever - but he was average in most all respects and, IMO, he still is. Had he not had his father, no way in hell would he have been a Div. I HC - ever. Not saying anything about Taggert because I don't know enough about him, but as for Holtz, he's good if you want to be average ... if you want to regularly compete for and win championships, he's not your guy.
