Don't think Giants will score enough for the over..but Green Bay may cover it themselves...never know? I do believe this game will be the best to watch.. Pats are going to blow the Bolts out....Packers and Patriots in the bowl....

I agree with most of you on this game....Packers and Over...but it does scare the living crap outta me that this seems to be the consensus pick and the lines haven't moved.
wonbadappl...you have made a living out of a couple lucky games for the G-men. Against Tampa, they won because Garcia didn't play out of the shotgun and they were unable to get the ground game going. Tampa isn't a team that can come back, and obviously resting their players killed them. Then they go into Dallas, a team they know very well and get a good road win. But this was not the usual Dallas team. Tony Romo looked like he was still in Mexico and once again, they refused to go to the shotgun. This is what the Patriots did in the last game of the year and absolutely tore that defense up. For some reason, nobody in the playoffs seems to have found the tape from that game because that is how you beat the Giants. Spread em out and take advantage of the weak secondary. This week they go up against a team that has solid receivers in Driver and Jennings, and a quarterback that will find the open guy no matter what. I look for the Packers to be in the shotgun for a lot of this game.
On the other side of the ball, the Giants are going to have a harder time. The Packers defense I think has been THE most underrated defense in the NFL. They have a very strong secondary, fast and aggressive linebackers, and a very good defensive line. Without Shockey in there, I think the Packers secondary will be able to shut down Plax and Toomer...especially considering Charles Woodson is one of the bigger CB's in the game, which will limit that advantage for Burress. Brandon Jacobs might just be one of the more overrated backs in the league...he's big and thats about it. Ryan Grant had more yards and more touchdowns than Jacobs in two less games.
Biggest factor in this game is going to be the weather as MANY of you have pointed out. This is going to be the 2nd or 3rd coldest game in Lambeau Field history. Packers played in the snow last week...Giants played indoors last week, and in beautiful Tampa the week before. Huge advantage for the Packers here. Last time the Giants saw bad conditions was over a month ago in Buffalo.

23 Dec 2007, Bears beat Packers, 35-7, this is a 13-3 team?
The Bears harassed Favre all game, with pressure from Hunter
Hillenmeyer leading to both Bears interceptions. The Packers
quarterback completed just 17 of 32 passes for 153 yards and a 40.2
passer rating—and later complained about the brutal weather.
“We obviously didn’t handle it very well, but I’ve been playing 17
years and those were the worst conditions I’ve ever played in,” said
the future Hall of Famer. “Excuse or not, they were. But they handed it
better than we did.”
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

Listened to some roundtable radio show this week about playing in the cold with former NFL players interviewed -
Consensus - Cold doesn't matter as much as the wind. Ball is frozen so it makes it harder to catch, not throw. Harder to kick, but the K ball offsets that.
So it boils down to focus - If you can focus on the play at hand, you can overcome the cold. - Given that Eli hasn't shown the ability to focus in the cold. Packers 1st half.

I am swiching the play!!! I have been on the Pack all week.....everything adds up to them getting it donw.....except one thing I just can't shake out of my head......THE BEARS beat them......TWICE!!!!!!
And one of those times was in horrible conditions like this with a #1 seeding on the line and they got bitch-slapped!!! BY THE BEARS!!!! Give me the Giants and the Under for all the running and short passing that will be implemented due to the conditions......
I've been on the Giants for the last two weeks......I can't leave them now.......Pack find a way to win.....to give the people what they want in the Super Bowl......but the Giants keep it very close and lose late.

PACK should roll this one NYG had 2 good games and I feel today the good ol ELIE will make his presence and be back to his old self and toss up 3 or 4 picks well maybe 1 or 2 and I hate to use the weather but it is going to be F-ing COLD that ball is going to be all over the place. Big FAVRE fan and would love to see him finish his career on top so IM all over GREENBAY,

Giants vs. Packers -7.5 (2 units) - this game might be played in single digit temperatures, and should be the coldest game of the season for any team. Eli and his crew have one more road stop before making it to the Super Bowl and being the only set of brothers to win back to back Super Bowls. That dream will die today in Wisconsin because it is Brett Favre's destiny to head to the big game and then retire no matter the outcome. The Packers struggled early in the game against Seattle but once the snow started falling they put everything together and built some HUGE momentum going into todays game. The Giants had an emotional win in Dallas and I don't think they have it in them to do the same here. I think we'll see our typical Manning collapse and then he'll get that really goofy blank stare everytime his WRs drop a pass. Brandon Jacobs might be the lone bright spot today, they will rely on him heavily in order to keep Favre off the field. The defense is playing great right now but they do have respect for Favre and this isn't a rivalry, I expect them not to come out with the same tenacity they did vs. Dallas. Basically here I'm predicting a let down game for the Giants as I really don't think they're a SB caliber team. The Packers have a well balanced offensive attack, great D-line, LBs, and secondary, and they also have one of the better special teams units in the league. I'll need Favre to keep his cool and not go all crazy on me with some weird passes that get picked. Prediction here is Packers 30-17.

Take New York +7 over Green Bay (Sunday 6:30 pm Fox) The Giants have been the best road team in the NFC and much like they did last week by beating Dallas, they will avenge an earlier loss to the Packers in this game. New York has possession receivers and a strong running game and that is a perfect recipe for success when playing in cold weather. The Packers are young and very inexperienced in big games and were fortunate that the Hawks rolled over and died once things starting to change at the end of the first quarter. Favre will be playing on the big stage for the first time in over a decade and expect him to come out and try and do too much, things that have cost him dearly in the past. The Giants have the ability to get pressure with their front four and they will wear down the offensive line of the Packers.

Kudos to the Giants for having gotten this far with a pretty crappy team. Well done New York. Yankees made it to the conference title series and then got beaten. Now you're football team is about to match that performance. Way to °almost* get there yet again NY
