Clippers- I am not impressed at all by the Clippers win streak. Everyone is hyping them up because of it but can you please look at who they have beaten on this run? I would say about 90% of the teams are trash and they should kill them, and the other 10% are teams that might sneak into the playoffs. And due to this streak, they are being called the best team in the league? Gimme a break.
Celtics My favorite team, but they honestly look terrible. Don't be fooled by the Xmas game vs the Nets because the Nets are reeling badly and are just lost. I think Doc has the lineups all messed up as well. Jason Terry has been coming off the bench his whole career and now you have him in the starting lineup? Jason Collins is starting?! Or should I say...Jason Collins is in the NBA?? Start Sullinger and Lee and make Terry come off the bench and get Collins off the team.
Some Key Factors to Look at:
Boston traveling from east to west in only 2 days. The time zone difference can cause them to be a step slower.
Boston sucks at rebounding. It scares me to think that Jason Collins will be starting vs Deandre Jordan and also that KG will have to guard Griffin.
Clippers like to push the tempo and get out in transition. Boston could get run out of the gym.
Verdict I just can't pick a side on this game yet. I can see the Celtics maybe tightening up their defense and shutting down lob city. All DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin do is dunk the ball. If they can contain those 2 then I think it will be close. Rondo can check CP3, Pierce could drop 30-40, Green would have to have a big night. At the same time, what if Boston is stagnant offensively as they shown they can be vs the Nets. The Clippers could pull away easily.
I'm just analyzing here.....what do you guys see as the difference maker in this game?

I totally agree. When KG comes out of the game, the help defense is non existent in the paint for Boston. That could spell disaster for the Celts.
I haven't seen the Clippers lately but I watched their Christmas Day game against Denver. I placed my bet on Denver but after the second quarter, I know what's going to happen. Those three that I've mentioned were the key players why they made a huge run during that second quarter. Hopefully they will remain hot in tomorrow's game.

Boston has to turn this into a half court game and not let become a track meet, if so they will get ran out the gym. Blake is only effective in the open court catching lobs, thats where the clipps gain momentum and that energy is transformed to the bench.Boston is a much better half court team, so if they slow it down Bos will win straight up

Yes, and key players for Boston are Jason Terry and Jeff Green. Terry is very familiar with the Staples Center having played in the West for a long time may have a huge game. If he can put up 20, Green 15 they may have a good shot at a W. Barbosa is also coming back tonight so the Celts may be able to match the Clipps bench production tonight. Sullinger is showing a lot of improvement and you can't forget about Brandon Bass.
One minute I like Clipps, the next I like Boston lol. I'm kinda leaning Boston now.

I agree with you Doedy. If you and I can see this, then I would hope that Doc would be able to get the message to his team. Blake doesn't do anything but catch lobs. Boston is definitely the better half court team and also they sacrifice offensive rebounding to get back on defense.

Clippers bench strength is helping them break 110 just about every night. Celts cannot keep up with that, and need to do the impossible, which is hold the Clips to the 80s or 90s. They need a final around 190 or less.
I think Boston can play well, be close at the half, and still be down by 15 at crunch time. 8 seems a lot, but it happens quickly in a lot of games, and seems Boston could hemmorage late in this one.

I'm thinking Boston first half is probably a solid play. Because I think they could fall behind late like you say.

just give u a question to think of. whom would u give your money too? the one who show u constantly that they can cover or a team that beat the worst team in the NBA right now

Hah I see where you are coming from, but at the same time I can say Do you want to go with proven winners or guys who haven't won much in their careers? Pierce, Garnett, Terry, Rondo, Doc Rivers.....that is a bunch of winners if you ask me.
CP3, Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan, Crawford.....what do they have? A win streak vs crappy teams....
Even though the Celts haven't played well this season, I'm not buying this Clippers team quite yet. It's too early, but I can't argue with you that they have definitely been money makers on this streak.

I'm surprised they are not exploring Fab Melo..........
Funny you say that because I was thinking the exact same thing. They like Jason Collins because he is a good defender (so they say). But I just saw that Fab Melo dropped 32 pts and 9 rebounds in a d league game on wednesday. Sullinger seems like he is going to be a solid big man in this league, if Fab Melo can turn into something similar then that's a big plus for the Celtics future.

Well it seems like a night of veterans vs young bucks with dallas vs okc and boston vs clipps. Thanks for all your input. Here is what I am going with....
Boston 1st Half +5 Boston 2nd Qtr +2 Boston +8.5 Dallas +10
5 pt Teaser Dallas +15 Boston +13.5
I'm thinking it's time that Boston starts playing better and 8.5 is just too many pts to be giving. The line is inflated because of the clippers win streak. Taking Dallas because I have a crazy feeling that they might pull off a stunner tonight....how? I have no idea, but it is TNT thursday and the majority of people are all over OKC. I'll roll with Vegas on this one. Dirk, Marion, Carter, Mayo, Collison, Kaman....they have some firepower. OKC really only has Westbrook and Durant....granted they can produce 30 each but still. I'm sure Marion will have the assignment of guarding durant. Marion is a pretty good defender, but Durant is unstoppable let's face it lol. Whatever, still rather be rolling with Vegas then the public...win or lose.

Boston at +9 now. I'm laying off Boston for the game. That line movement has me worried. I believe it's because Barbosa did not make shootaround this morning and is questionable for game but who knows. Either way I'm laying off that.
Dallas +10 is the play of the day guys, I feel it!
