Nice to see the buds grab Nash but Howsen didnt even give Burke a shot he wanted way to much yet settles for this deal makes no sense to me. The 3 guys he dealt for Nash make the same money as Nash together so Columbus still has to pay that 7.8 million just a shorter time 3 years where as nash is 7 years just cant understand why now and not get more prospects than Dubinsky one good year and way over paid.

howson wanted jeff skinner from carolina...that was enough to send jim rutherford out the door laughing...
columbus i believe is on the right track tho with the makings of a good young core group...but...with a softening fan base, declining season-ticket interest, and the giant shadow cast by ohio state sports, there's big-time pressure in that market to get better (and relevant) in a hurry...im not sure that can happen, and im not certain how an organization reeling so badly can possibly survive yet another 3-5 yr rebuild that doesn't include any guarantees...
meanwhile the coffers are leaking red ink, the core fans are restless, the bandwagon fans are skeptical and hangin onto their wallets, and now with nash gone there is no "face" to promote...
they need a miracle (in addition to the one that'll be required for howson to last till christmas)...
