Why did Dixon have his guys on the lane with the score tied? With less than a sec left, the reward is not worth the risk. Get your guys off the lane, let the guy shoot the 2nd FT, and if Butler gets the rebound, so be it. They arent making a 94' shot to win the game with less than a second to go.
One can argue about whether a whistle should have been blown. But, I am not sure you can argue that it was a ridiculous decision to have the guys on the FT lane.

Pitt kids showed a lot of class following the game. I fell bad for Robinson. He can take some sollace from the fact that, if it weren't for him, they wouldn't have been close enough for that final foul to matter.
Had it not been for the foul on Mack, I think maybe there's a 50/50 chance the ref doesn't call that last one. That said, it happened right in front of the ref and there really wasn't much doubt it was a foul (maybe two fouls). I recall when I was a kid, Delaware lost an unbelievably heartbreaking game a Lafayette when the Delaware kid (Brian Downie) ran smack into the Lafayette player (Bob Spadafora) at half court with about :01 to play and UD up one. There was no way LC was going to get a shot off, but it was clearly a foul. Spadafor sank two FT's to win it. Painful.
How good is Butlier? They are good enough to beat a #1 seed when the #1 seed plays pretty well. I'm trying to find something not to like/love about this team. Their coach might be the classiest guy in sports. Their gym might be the coolest gym (outside of the Palestra) in the country. It's a shame Hayward didn't stick around.

You need to leave someone at the line to pressure the inbound pass after a free throw make. Having players at the line is not ridiculous ... the attempt to get the ball and call were ridiculous.
There would be just as many threads ripping Dixon if Brown made the shot and there was a 90 foot pass (ala Laetner) that was uncontested.
