Very few teams in this league are auto plays which means that on any given night, a situational play exists. In the case of New Jersey, I'm not drawn to them for any reason other than the matchup. I've only played them 3 times this season which includes tonight. I played the Devils in a SO loss against the Habs earlier in the season and I played them against the Leafs in a 4-2 loss a few nights ago and in that game, they were leading after 2 periods. Hedburg has allowed a few soft goals recently but he's still a very good goaltender and I trust him with my money. Furthermore, I love betting on a deep hockey team such as the Devils who are playing a very undisciplined team such as Buffalo who happens to have 16 players who are - on the +/-....16 fukking players, Jesus. I guess that explains why Buffalo is giving up the second most goals in the league. I understand New Jersey is in a slump...they've been pressing and I gave this logic when I played the Capitals a couple of weeks ago against them. But when you have a desperate team such as the Devils who have 3 good lines and who are playing a Buffalo team that has absolutely zero defense, why wouldn't you have an interest in Jersey? I don't put a lot of stock in home ice but maybe tonights home game will be good for Jersey as theyve only lost 3 times this season at home. I realize Vanek is back in the lineup and he, alone, is a good enough reason for Buffalo backers to take a shot against a slumping Devils team at + money but from my perspective, I think having Vanek in the lineup opens up the ice and that is the type of game I'm comfortable with New jersey playing tonight. Miller has faced the most shots of any goaltender in the league and I'm convinced that the Devils will also have plenty of opportunities to score tonight. Buffalo is so shittty in transition....so many turnovers in the neutral zone and guys like Elias and Kovalchuk will capitalize. Jersey breaks out of their slump tonight, confident.
