Finland (-2.5) vs. Belarus - Finland are the defending champions and are playing this at home. They really have dominated Belarus and I expect them to win this one easily. They played two exhibition games, with Finland winning 5-0, 2-1. In the 5-0 game, Finland outshot Belarus 68-21, including 31 shots in the second period. In the 2-1 game, Finland outshot Belarus 43-11. The only thing that scars me is the Belarussian goalie, Mezin - he is a very good goalie...but long in the tooth, but he can keep them in the game. That being said...i'm taking Finland(-2.5) (-105).
Sweden vs. Norway (-2.5) - Like Finland, Sweden is playing this game on home ice. Sweden actually lost to Norway 6-5 last year. I don't see that happening this year. I expect Sweden to cover the 2.5 goal spread. They played one exhibition game earlier, with Sweden winning 7-1, I expect more of the same.Taking Sweden (-2.5) (-145) Steep, I know.
Canada vs. Slovakia Under 5.5 - Not convinced of Canada's offense yet, and traditionally, they start slow. It's a gamble considering the Slovaks are usually weak in goal, but Slovakia does have Chara playing for them and the played Russia and lost to them 3-2 & 2-1 even outshooting them both times. I like that Sutter is coaching Canada, so I can't see a 'run and gun' type of game. Taking Canada/Slovakia Under 5.5 (+110)
Still looking at the other games....will post later if I add anything. Good luck.

Gonna add USA vs. France Under 5.5 (+100) - France has trouble scoring, but they have a former NHL goalie in net, (Huet), could be a blowout, but France might keep it close. USA/France UNDER 5.5(+100)

I'm watching Canada vs Slovakia online and can tell you that there is NO defense being played by either team other than stick checking... any play on an under is going to be dangerous in these mismatch games.

Good writeups. I know this is a square question but I've always wanted to know this. Why do they play this tournament smack dab in the middle of the Stanley Cup playoffs?

Well, it's really the only time they can play....I mean, its May...probably can't play any later, players have to rest sometime and really can't play before the season, no one would want to risk injury. I like the tournament, but its really a 'European tournament', whereas the world juniors is a 'Canadian tournament'...it's good for the young NA players to get some experience playing on the big ice...the 'real' World Championships are the Olympics...IMO.
