Gotta love the guy who said corporate greed creates jobs,
I think he means all the jobs created overseas.
population is going up, while more and more jobs get sent overseas. It doesnt take a math major to figure out whats gonna happen at some point. All those corporate dirtbags might have all the money, but they will be fearing for their lives, when the country goes completely under because of their own selfish greed.
Thats what you guys with kids have to look forward to
Then you all can explain to your kids how you thought corporate greed is good and how letting the jobs go overseas wasnt a problem. good luck with that speech, while your kids are in their 40's flipping burgers at mikey d's

What about people on commission?
What if someone is on schedule to hit the cap mid year? Do they just take a six month vacation?

Canovsp, are you ever going to take your blinders off and see that the corporations are creating all these so called jobs you speak of, in other countries, not here in America.
My God take a whiff of the coffee

Start a business, hire workers, provide a retirement plan, paid sick days, vacation days etc...oh and be their shrink... oh and make a profit....oh and borrow money, sign your house over to borrow said money to start the business.
Get back to me after about 3 years (assuming your business survives-not a dig, most small business fail) and let me know if you still feel the same.
Maybe you will, maybe you will not but until you have walked a mile in another mans shoes you cannot have the proper understanding of what you propose.

ok, let me get this straight-you think that a profitable business should be limited to the amount of compensation that an owner, stock holder or an employee can withdraw from the company?
ok, so lets say a guy starts a company by hinself (he is the only employee) and wants to keep it small (lets say under 50 ppl so he/she can avoid all the nasty govt regs that come with being a 50+ employee company.
he does really well over the years and build it and profits are through the roof but he has grown it as far as he cares to. what should he do with the profits now?
By what I understand, he would be penalized by not being allowed to do withdraw what the compnay he/she has started fdrom its infancy.
you are going to force him to do x,y or z with the profits?
1) that is ludicrous
2) it will be an accounting nightmare as ppl move cash from here to there from company A to B
3) I can picture the amount bearuacy needed to oversee it.....lovely
4) It stifles any incentive to take risk
5) It woukd stifle any reinvestment in a company for some ppl (see example above)
6) It would have the possibilty of slowing hiring
I am sure I am missing alot of other "unintended" consequences
That's my 2 cents......try it up north and let me know how you guys make out

CEO's dont compensate themselves.....Board of Directors and stock holders do.
If the risk is not worth the reward to you then you have not a clue what it takes to run a business. You do not appreciate it and therefore you minimize it and want to penalize a person who starts a business and then hires someone like yourself.
My guess is you barter most of your services and do not have steady employment and agree with the Occupy movement. That is just a guess based on your replies thus far.
Not at all hating my friend....I find this an interesting albeit misguided discussion.

HOW ABOUT MAXIMUM WAGE IN THE HEALTH INSURANCE INDUSTRY. Or better yet. How about no medical insurance industry. How much worse could state-mandated be than the current system? I'll take shitty health care over this elitist bull shit now. Fuk all the specialists lets regress in specialty and increase general care. This will still result in better overall outcomes.
Let's be like Canada but better. Give people the liberties to do what they like, but tax the shit out of unhealthy behaviors. Smoking and drink JUST TAX THE SHIT OUTTA IT. Double the prices for god sakes. I don't like the sound of it, but this is a real answer and all the US like hearing about is the immaterial.
An entire US industry that produces produces very little. Just a beauracratic mess.

I find it hysterical watching those that purport to be small business owners defending the current corporate laws in place.
It really shows the lack of fundamental understanding as to how our current business climate works.
Small business owners actually are penalized more because the current tax system protects the corporate tax structure, not that of what is currently defined as a 'small business.'
As an aside, I am opposed to any caps on income, but I am also opposed to individuals being able to shelter all of that income from taxes.
Want to take a guess at what corporations can do?
