turns out that successful two point conversion cost us the win. as did that terrible personal foul call. we didn't get the home field clock operator but review probably would have caught it anyway. can't say we deserved that one but a tough one not to win. i guess a push is fair.

Eddie Penis with the kick, to steal a win from me despite the fact the clock should have run out after the last play. (at least I pushed the bet oh joy)

Well done, especially considering Eddie Money's untimely passing this weekend. Or was it timely? Who am I to judge.

good question. i didn't know that rule but it's fair. that's not how it works on normal plays, but on a 2 point conversion, if each side has a 5 yard penalty in successive plays, the ball should go to the original spot, otherwise, that's an unnecessary advantage to the defense.

As Hugh stated the call was correct. The offense has the option of taking the half the distance penalty if they choose to attempt another kick or they may place the ball at the 2 if they choose to attempt a 2 pt. conversion. This would be the case even if a defensive penalty occurred at the 15 yard line. The offense can always bring the ball back to the 2, but can not attempt a kick from there. Hope you understand that.

no, ums, just waiting on that line to post. i've already made my other bets. looks like 7 is as far as it will go so might as well wrap it up.
looked at miami but i'm just not sure that's a real nfl team right now. of courxe, i have AZ winning out right, but will stay away. don't understand the KC line so i'll stay aware there too. decided to shoot for the middle in jax. 9 and 7 is too good to pass up with jax having some question marks. good luck today.
Tennessee -3
Dallas -5.5 (i'm 0 - whatever betting road favorites, sorry hjs)
Detroit +1.5
Buffalo -1 (two in one week )
Rams -1.5
Denver +2
Jax +9/Houston -7

nice job everyone, particularly HJS who is hitting the ground running.
as for tonight, i just don't see the jets having much success here. not because darnold is out, but because the jets are overrated and cleveland is a good team coming off a brutal loss. i'm hoping for a big cleveland win so we can look at taking the jets next week getting more points than they should.
one other note. i think the summer newsletter has done a pretty good job of predicting this season although it's only two games. sadly, one prediction that has come true is that some of these perennial tea,s with great qb's are going to have some trouble. we already have two veteran QB's go down and i bet there will be more. now, the afc north and nfc south are wide open. it'll be interesting to see what the lines for pitt and No look like this week. i'll be back tomorrow.

Jalen Ramsey now requesting a trade thru his agent after the much publicized confrontation with Doug Marrone yesterday. I think I saw this coming as clearly as a 1000 foot cruise ship as it approaches the port. The Jaguars are such a mess, mostly internally. Coughlin needs to fire Marrone and then announce his resignation simultaneously.

Drafting a RB in the 1st round is never a good idea. There are so many college backs that can play in the NFL, it's a bounty of riches unlike any other position. At least Elliott has multi use talent. Fournette on the other hand is a one trick pony.
Supposedly the Jaguars are willing to trade Ramsey for nothing less than a 1st round pick and then some. I honestly hope they do it. He divided the team last year and is doing it again. A phenomenal talent but definitely needs a change of scenery. Both sides will be better off if a deal gets done.
