I tell all the degens in the mains to quit and walk away a small time loser and regain control of their lives rather than continue and end up broke, in jail or jumping off a bridge to their death....much respect to Eastgate to recognize he sufferd from a gambling addiction and walked away from certain ruins.
I always wonder about Stu Ungar and what hed be like if he got help.

I find myself cheering for Phil Ivey given all hes recently gone thru for outsmarting so many casinos yet being claimed a cheater...hes currently top 30 in chips and in a prime spot for a legit deep run this year.

Could you have folded in Labats spot? If he does, hes still healthy 3rd or 4th chip count heading to the final 9...now hes a lame duck shortstack needing a miracle

100% agreed...fold and sit on your stack...that call is the differemce between 9th place and possibly 1st...ie 7+million $.
But it was a long mentally draining day just to get there...i would have loved for this year to have all the final 50 players strapped up with a heart rate monitor just to see who is really in control of their emotions...ESPNs nightly coverage this year on TV here in Ontario (TSN2) has been great in my opinion.

beyond terrible...check call on the turn is an automatic check call on the river if a blank comes...that hand cost Lynsky everything...why he didn't go into the mental tank and figure the hand out analytically? Amateur vs Pro in a nutshell right there.

Tony Miles has played nearly flawless poker at this final table, and that 33 vs 43 hand vs Dyer Donk river snap call was the fateful hand which has him in a great spot to win this...but Cynn has impressed me too...great final table play.

Miles only words to Cynn after the final hand is over:
"Why you slow roll me man?"
I think Cynn will have a tough time being seen as a nice guy within the poker community after that etiquette breach....some may see it as a guy simply tanking for his entire event life...but come on, if your opponent has AK, KQ, or even 88, you are always calling in that spot and if you get a cooler hand, thats poker.
