tried posting a discussion thread earlier in AM and gave up. this is getting ridiculous. and when created a thread ystday it disappears. have to switch to the old version to see it. anyone else experiencing this? dont know if its the site or the computer. once get it created theres no issues replying within it so thought id try this.
UCL: lots of nice matchups this Round, with tons of plot lines. the time of year when having someone with 6 screens mounted on a wall comes in handy. (good thing theres 2 early starts.....if werent? we'd just remove the matches involving Greek squads. LOL.
firstly, like a broken record, toss out the recent wknds domestic results. lot of people fall into that 'trap' of "ohh look at how they demolished (or blew chunks) vs so-and-so". I toss it out the window. the UCL is an entirely different animal.
no sense of posting the writeups in earlier ones. I passed on both anyways. already have a goals future with Munich and somewhat concerned as they kind of look out of sorts this year in UCL. YB/Val was just a toss up as Valencia just hasnt been scoring lately.
ManU/Juve - ill only speak from the Juventus perspective. the lines are priced about right. most of us -- taking into consideration the Group table as it CURRENTLY stands --- any other opponent and we'd be singing the 'draw' tune. especially when we get them at home in Round 4. we DONT need to win this one; and when Juve doesnt need to win we (Allegri) is bloody tough. but the thing that has given us a BIG "????" is that Ronaldo-Mou thing. gave mention to it in thy wknds thread; not familiar with what exactly is going on there but there is definitely something going on. im not in Christians head, but judging from some of his comments to the media over Intl break, a lot of us get this feeling hes had Oct 23rd circled on his calendar & ears pinned back for this one. I honestly dont know what to expect from him tomorrow night; as he stated last week"....Going back to Manchester is always really emotional for me.” as for ManU, put a gun to my head and I think Lukaku bangs one in; he has that style which gives Bonucci fits; Pogba yakking away again about his desire to come back during the winter transfer session, ya think hes going to lay an egg vs the team he wants to re-join? (gonna bite my tongue and keep opinions to self about him). Matic(Serbia) & Pjanic(Bosnia), watching these two MF's going at it is worth the price of admission. these two do NOT like each other fyi. simply re-read their home countries. we picked Pjanic over Matic back in '16 so he too has an axe to grind.
and then theres that "Mou Special"; I cant speak for ManU, but getting two pts out of these next two matches isnt the end of the world for them in regards to the Group standings.
this smells like a big time draw.
1) a 'w' practically puts one foot in the door to advance.
2) a draw is as good as a win.
3) losing is a strong possibility because GOD FORBID if we ever do anything the easy way. and i DO mean this sincerely.

Ajax/Benefica - another tough one. personally I think this line is a knee-jerk reaction to the Dutch side grabbing a point in Munich. but Beneficas last two UCL roadies were vs Greek sides; conceded 2 to AEK & 1 to PAOK. after seeing a good part of the Bayern match it makes me wonder what the Dutch are gonna do to them. keeping in mind, Bayern attacked, and left themselves open to counters. Benefica will do no such thing. and as a friend duly noted, just 1 home "small favored" in the -150 to +150 range has won thus far in UCL ('Pool vs PSG).
taking a stab at the draw here @+300.
and the over 2.5 @-122 to protect it.
Roma/CSKA - Russians giving me an ulcer. how the heck ya fall behind 2 goals to Plzen and then pull a rabbit out of their a**es vs Real last round. hasnt been many games ive seen where a team gets outshot 15+, loses the possession battle at a 3-1 ratio (and that was a HOME match too), yet still wins. heck, isnt their goalie suspended here too? theyre in first place in Groups --- here comes another bus-parking adventure vs my favorite punching bag. and might I add, Roma RARELY loses consecutive matches at home. actually, I thought -250 was too high/low; Roma SHOULD be in the 400's.
Roma -1.5 @+104
Hoffenheim/Lyon - so Lyon able to beat City on the road and books hang mid-200's on them here? the h*ll with capping this one, i give up. gonna hang my hat on this one stat.........in ALL 12 of Hoffenheim's matches this year --- the BTTS has hit. but this is juiced to the moon in the 200's, and the Germans cant really afford the draw here. so the next best option?
Hoff/Lyon over 3 @-118 (doubling the risk on this one)

Real/Plzen - not paying juice on a 2.5 HC nor a 3.5 'over' in UCL, h*ll..... Madrid might even "save" some energy for the Classico this coming wknd with Messi benched. they CAN blow them away, but will they be interested in doing it? im not in mood to pay this kind of juice to find out. PASS.
Shakhtar/ManC - Ukranians beat them here last year 2-1 but keep in mind ManC already clinched and rotated heavily. different scenario this time around and Shakhtar loves the up-tempo at home which plays right into ManC's strengths. there could be a bunch of goals in this one; but more likely before the whistle as I can see City protecting the lead and simply playing the counter game in the 2nd half.
1st half over 1.5 @+120.
threw some on a ' parlay with the juice-boys City/Pool/Real matches over 2.5 @+134
back later with Conmebol as theres a Gaucho/Samba lovefest for both Semi-finals today/tmrw.

Cody its just frustrating. think this is a nice workaround to just get a thread up and then reply in it, we'll see,
Leather appreciate it. worked out nicely today.,
yoro that wasnt easy, but glad it hit fer ya
decent day as Juve took care of business (cork popping) hit the biggie with Hoff, Roma & City didnt disappoint, and the parlay is alive. Ajax last gasp goal ruined that draw.
adding:
preferred to wait to validate the lineups/formation.
Copa Lib: things are back to their "proper" ways with two Argentine/Brazilian semi final matchups
River Plate(Arg)/Gremio(Bra) - Gaucho squad is one of the biggest in Conmebol and their home a fortress; have lost just once in past 16 home games (3 years) in this comp and are unbeaten overall this seasons tourney. finally lost their first match since February in domestics as coach rested 3/4 of his squad. but this is more of a play against the Brazilians whom not only in a bad run of form winless in 3 straight, its also their 3rd roadie in a row. but on top of all this their two main strikers are out - Luan & Everton - which are pretty significant losses. which pretty much ensures theyre going to park the bus and try to hold out for the 2nd leg next week; but theyve been conceding goals to far less quality of opposition than what theyll be facing tonight.
River to win @-118, River -1 @+200
Copa Sud: an all Colombian Qtr final
Santa Fe/Cali - not a popular play, as the word 'under' should always be used in same sentence as 'Colombia'. and this being the Qtr finals of an Intl tourney one can probably expect things tight. and these two are separated by a single point domestically thru 16 rounds too. Santa faced another Colombian squad last round and actually taped it, but only got thru 15 minutes before shutting it off. BOTH legs were 0-0 draws and they advanced on penalties. for their part, Cali scored just ONCE too and they advanced as well. going to take a chance with another expected boring match as they are in a little better form than their opponent.
