ystday, mistakenly mentioned this was the final day of group stages (laughing) but i remember someones thread "the world cup starts when brazil plays". hence, it should end when theyre done. logical thinking ehh? besides, those teams in Groups G & H were invited simply to make the brackets nice n tidy.
been a LONG time since ive seen germans, brazilians, argentines ALL facing the possibility of being eliminated before the start of their 3rd match. these guys usually take care of that sh*t quickly.
Mexico is what we call possibly stuck between a rock & a hard place. loss = elimination or stay in first and possibly get brazil.. LOL perhaps they shoulda just let germany beat them.
Futures applicable: Germany to win Group (parlay), Mexico to advance, Mexico TT O3.5. if hit 2 of the 4, specifically the TT's, this will be another big day. so im not going too heavy on any plays today, gonna save that fer tmrw.
Germany/Korea - Germans can still win the group here if Mexico loses. Im assuming theyre gonna want to beat the goal difference if Swedes pull off the 'w' themselves. however, at the same time, if Mexico has a lead I can see the Germans dialing it down in the 2nd half. these clubs get minute-by-minute updates from some assistant on the bench and are keenly aware of whats going on. so I wouldnt touch that HC with a 10-foot pole. Dont even know whom Lowe has slated to start, not that it makes much of a difference. Korea? tho eliminated doesnt mean theyll just roll over here & with the Germans looking shaky in the back at times ya just never know. in my mind, Germans winning is an afterthought. going to play this 'safe' and simply take the overs as I think Koreans can hit the back of net. nothing really too interesting out of this.
Korea/Germany over 1.5 1st half @+114
Korea/Germany over 3.5 @+115
Mexico/Sweden - need Mex to hit the back of net once and collect another TT. even sweeter if they advance; so im leaving those both alone. but this is one of the 3rd round matches looking forward to seeing. simply due to their contrasting styles as well as the pressure the Mexicans are feeling. Mexico? realistically all they need is a point, a win secures 1st place. Sweden? no other choice but go for the win here. but this doesnt meant they will go for broke from the onset. these guys are a pretty tough nut to crack, and they take advantage of any opportunity given to them; its their MO. I just feel theyre going to hold back and absorb the pressure and get to the half level. but eventually theyre going to have to open it up, and that plays right into Mex hands.

Hitk, Deep, Duece, Dog, Whiskey that 650 was sweet. and through the "backdoor" got mexico to advance. though it would have been nice to see them score once. but it more than offset the 'overs in Germ/Kor. + that group parlay; what could have been a catastrophe ended up on the '+' side.
Group E: applicable futures: Brazil TT U9.5
Switz/Costa Rica - a draw sees Switz advaance. a win can see them overtake Samba boys if they cant do likewise. and even yet still, they can overtake on goal difference with a large 'w' here. was impressed with how they came back from a 1 goal deficit to beat Serbia as this is a fairly solid team all around. CR is eliminated, which I feel is important; not only that, but they are the only team remaining w/out a goal. definitely will come out of their defensive shell here and at worst try to get a point. Its been a LONG time (2002) since a country finished their WC with goose eggs in both the GF & Pts columns. theres been a few whom hadnt scored but still got a point via 0-0 draws. we all witnessed those massive celebrations when Panama, Saudi, Peru --- its embarrassing to go home with zero goals. With Switz needing to possibly score this sets up nicely. either way, CR is not gonna be bus parking like that Brazil game. gut plays, on how i feel this match will unfold + Brazil isnt scoring 7 today.
Switz/CR over 2.5 @+120, BTTS + over @+175
Brazil/Serbia - unless Samba Boys put up 7 i think my future is safe. they also have the luxury of 'choosing' whom they might want to play in KO's by either playing for the draw or winning by a big margin; but thats not really their MO. theyre expected to win every time. but if they thought Switz were tough, this could be a nightmare if they arent careful. big, physical, teams tend to get the better of them & Flopper & the front line are going to be visiting the grass a lot vs this bunch. however, with that being said, an early goal for them and this could get ugly; Switz had speed in their ranks, Serbs dont really have that variable......and Samba boys destroy plodding teams. Serbia need a win to advance, if they keep this close and knock 'em on their butts at every turn, Neymar & Co. gonna have another hissy-fit. and Serbs have a HUGE advantage on set pieces. personally, I think they can keep this within a the 1.5 but im not paying 170 juice for that kind of "confidence".
2nd half over 1.5 @-110
goin' 'Deep-style' - total cards over 3.5 @+110 - Serbs, like the Croats, are an ornery lot whom back down from nothing.

Loose good to see you around again. hope the vacation is going well. Hebrides? friend always brings up his time spent there on vacation. heard it's beautiful but it isnt easy to get there.
pretty decent day on the sides getting a nice payout with Sweden and CR/Switz played out as thought. nailed two more futures for a nice end to it.
- Swedes beat Mexico at their own game. call me crazy but this team is scary and could find themselves in the semis too. not much of a difference from Switz in KO, get by them and Id pay to watch Waffles/Lions break them down. that wont be a cakewalk for either of them.
